For the influx of United fans who feel the need to come in to have a cut about the fee. In relative terms this is no different to I used paying £30m for Rio in 2002....most expensive British player and most expensive defender in the world. To put this into perspective Barcelona outbid United then for Ronaldinho, a fair equivalent to Coutinho who is worth £150m I'd estimate, with a €30m bid, not pounds, not euros. If VVD has the same influence as Ferdinand I'll be very happy.

It's a forum mate I'll offer an opinion where I like. Good player I'd like him beside Bailly they'd make a good pairing but if we'd bought him you'd probably be on the United thread ridiculing him as a waste of money.

Who cares what was paid for him sure it's all nuts but good to remember the spending is being spread around.

Use to be a time that Barcelona took great pride in bringing their own through the ranks while their biggest rivals Real Madrid were left to splash the over the odds cash on players. Any player to be worth a fee of £150 i think should have proven himself in high profile games for club and country.

Oh dear!   LFC didn't really learn from the Andy Carroll episode did they?     Once again, like the dole family winning the lottery,  they can't wait to get the Coutinho money spent even before the cheque arrives just to show everyone else they are part of the big league and can "outbid" even City!  😁  £75m would've gone a long way to sorting out defence and GK.  But no....blowing the budget on making a statement of intent is much more important! 😉
