I couldn't find the result of the 2020 championship. The first game was a draw. Was it shared because of Covid?
Which years were u17?

Carrickmore beat omagh on penalties in 2020 final, played in 2021 I think

Think 2021 and 2022 were u17 seasons.

Thanks. If I had to guess I would have said Coalisland as they put together 4-5 in a row u21's around that time.

Coalisland won 82, and Clarkes won 81

Quote from: Mikhailov on March 07, 2024, 12:57:43 PMWho is the Aidan Corr (Tyrone native) mentioned in the Irish News today who has 100+ appearances in the AFL down under. That's the same number as Conor McKenna but I never heard Corr mentioned before

Maybe he moved to Oz as a child - does anyone know?

Corr is a strong East Tyrone name
Born in Brockagh in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, Corr emigrated to Australia with his family at the age of three

Thank you for that. Interesting to hear that

Will definitely look out for him in the future

More BS from McEntee in his article "Will Tyrone make home advantage count in Healy Park, Omagh? It was once the most feared fortress in Ireland"

Do any of you recall Omagh ever been a fortress.. love to see the evidence. It's one of my biggest worries for the Monaghan game, having to play it in Omagh.

a deal has been confirmed today to send Brisbane defender Pearce Hanley to Gold Coast Suns

Trade period starts next week - a couple of Irishmen rumoured to be on the move with Pearse Hanley talking to Gold Coast Suns and Zach Tuohy a potential target for North Melbourne.
Not a follower of the sport but interested in Hanleys etc. What sort of team are the Gold Coast Suns?

Aware Brisbane have been cannon fodder the past while.

Suns are in the AFL since 2011 & in 6 seasons have never been in the play off finals, top 8, so I'd say he is swapping like for like

7 of last year's U-21s were used the week before v Cavan with 5 starters.

Was I right in thinking that Tomas O'Se was talking cobblers last night on RTE when he was eulogising about Tyrone having 7 of last year's U-21 team playing? They only had a couple I think as it was a fairly settled experienced side they had out. Actually Galway had 6 U-21's from last year starting the game. Although I doubt he even noticed that to be honest.

Started with Rory Brenan and Conor Meyler. Mark Bradley came on as did Lee Brennan, and Cathal McShane. Conor Meyler was replaced by Sean. So five used altogether.

James Horan on Newstalk is the voice of reason...Colm Parkinson, the voice of a prat. Jeez I wish he'd won an all Ireland with Mayo after listening to that man. He'd restore faith in the GAA if he was seconded to TSG.

Jim McGuinness & JJ Delaney have joined the team

does his level best to ruin the sport, then join's Murdoch's Sky trying to promote the thing. Good man Jim !

Sky are not trying to promote GAA. They are trying to market a product offering to their customers. Theres an interesting piece on the front page of the sports section of the sindo today. A guy called Steve Smith Head of Production at Sky Sports talking about Skys GAA coverage.
What struck me when reading was that the debate about professionalism in the GAA is long over.  Now its a question of when and how.
The GAA have sold our games as a commercial product with commercial value on yhe open market. To create a product with commercial value requires the acquisition of resources. These resources also command a commercial value. It will not happen quickly but more like glacial flow or the shifting of tectonic plates. At some point there will have to be an earthquake and we will all realise the ground has shifted beneath our feet.

Sky are doing a helluva better job on promoting GAA throughout forensic match analysis. It's a product I'd rather enjoy than the tabloid trash talkers on RTE.

In all of the shite going what is getting lost is that Tyrone are capable of taking some sublime scores.

Thanks to a couple of Tyrone posters who actually have the balls to call it how it is I have renewed faith in the fact that not all Tyrone supporters are apologist arseholes.

I still hope however that Kerry put manners on the f**kers! I will pray fervently that the Gooch hands the hoors their arse at the end, Tyrone are the single most hateful team the GAA has ever seen.

Armagh, the new moral guardians of the game...and look where's it got you, not seen inside Croke Park on AI semi final day since 2005.

Oisin mcConville now tipped Tyrone to lose 4 games in a row---heart ruling the head when it comes to being the pundit
