Anyone been to Iceland?
Any recomendations or advice?

.........settles in and wait for all the 'mums gone to iceland jokes'

Been a while so it's probably changed a lot. A trip to the blue lagoon is a must, going at nighttime was fun. iceland at night in only a pair of shorts...

pints were bloody expensive from recollection at the irish bar.

COnsidering going for a few days this summer.
Flights from belfast are cheap, although it seems to be quite expensive when you get there

Not the cheapest place in the world, restaurants were dear. Does have the advantage of being outside the eu so you can get duty free!
check the aurora borealis and geyser trips.

Anyone ever use Firefly care hire?

It comes up pretty regular on the car hire search engines?

Anyone who's been to Thailand - can you give me the brief low-down.

2/3 lads aged 21-24. looking to head July-August.

When searching flights, where's best to fly into as there are many islands, and are they hard to get to when there?

We only have about 2 weeks max due to work,  :( For accommodation - I take it u just float about from hostel to hostel (are these of decent standard?) or are the hotels cheap enough to move about after 3/4 nights in each?

Cheers.

Fella in work is going the week before Christmas. £199 for flights and accommodation for 3 nights (Radisson Blu) - sure it would be rude not to at that price.

Would suspect it's that one at that price.

Probably, up the side of a hill and bloody chilly. Nice walk into town (about 20-30 mins) but fine coming home with the beer jacket on.

What way are you flying?  We looked at it but we only had a week spare, and couldn't find a good enough two-centre holiday for a week, and to fly without going through a holiday company was a bit dear (flying through Toronto was cheapest option).

Ps on the hire car - booked through arguscarhire.com for car rental from Geneva in July so didn't know who I was booking with til we'd paid - ended up getting Sixt  ;D

Any posters been to Nice that would recommend any must do's. Heading next Friday for 4 nights, taking in the Monaco GP on the sunday, other than that we have no plans.

If you are reasonable fit and like hiking, get the train to Eze (a few minutes towards Monaco) and then climb up to the old village. If you aren't that way inclined you can get the bus.

Visit the Salaya markets near the beach and have a pint in Ma Nolan's, which is owned by an Irishman named Thady.

Do eat in the cheap looking cafés and delis, the food is great and the house wine is always good.
