Boxing in 70's/80's and part of 90's for sure.

Gaelic Football in 00's was better than now (bar the Dubs) however some of the games this season have given me hope

Not rugby. It was always shit.
I reckon this is only thing you and I agree on.

Well, we can't have that. Rugby is great!  ;D

Aztecball, known as ullamaliztli. Similar to warrenball but with human sacrifice.

Surrounding the court were areas for spectators, nobles and judges. The structure would often include skull racks (tzompantli). These had a base with upright wood posts. Bars ran from post to post, adorned with the skulls of sacrifice victims. Sometimes the walls would show reliefs of the winners and losers of the past. In Tenochtitlan, the ball court was at the foot of the blood stained stairs of the temple, and the ball game itself would often be a scene of sacrifice. It is believed that the losing coach, or even the whole team, might be sacrificed

Cycling in the pre-EPO days. They say that even if others were doping you still stood a chance of beating them if you stayed clean. EPO made doping mandatory for anyone who just wanted to keep up.
The jerseys were way better too.

La Vie Claire, Z, Carrera, PDM etc.

Dont agree about Gaelic Football lads...have you ever watched the 70s and 80s videos of Kerry and the Dubs hoofing the ball up in the air and then seeing who can secure possession without being maimed???

It was the unpredictability of the game, the 50/50 balls, man to man aspect that made it more entertaining. Now most games would bore the hole off ya.

I couldn't agree more - there was no passing sideways and backwards. The man to man element is missing to a great extent today too.

In hurling you rarely see much ground hurling anymore - a great loss.

The snooker used to be great entertainment. It's the kind of sport that needs personalities and the current crop couldn't be duller if they tried.

Soccer used to be enjoyable before the money got disgusting. Personally I can't watch it at all now and just find it sickening. It's especially stark in China where Carlos Tevez is getting about £600,000 a week, and the minimum wage is $327 a month. That's communism for you.

The standard in hurling is way better now but I would like to see a heavier sliotar. Too often it's a pot-shot competition from midfield and beyond. Teams don't need to work the ball close to goal.

The Star Sixes tournament is very good. Much more skillful and action packed than 11 a side.
