Ballyea and Ballygunner was some battle yesterday taking a second period of extra time to separate them. Both out on their feet at the end like two punch drunk heavyweights.

Ballygunner in fairness look to have the better all round team but Ballyea with Jack Brown, Niall Deasy and Tony Kelly are a serious outfit too.

Na Piarsaigh gave the Tipp champions a right going over and will be favourites but if Ballygunner can get a dry sod they might be quick enough and sharp enough to make a game of it.

Coolderry and MLR was a hard hitting game, no love lost their by the looks of it. I presume MLR aren't well liked in Leinster club circles due to their abrasive style.
We'd them and St Rynaghs up at our tournament last year and they weren't missing each other either.
MLR got nothing from that referee yesterday

Did Coolderry not lose a few players to ref cards? One early in the second half and didn't make that count

A few MLR players got yellow cards in first 20 mins for very little when Coolderry were dishing it out all over the park
#6 for coolderry should have been a straight red

Na piarsagh dished out some hammering. Be interesting to see if ballygunner can challenge them but I wouldn't be so sure.

Na piarsagh will be too strong for them, be another Munster title for them this year and chasing for the big one again.. Ballyboden struggle to get past Clonkill, I'd have expected them to be better but who knows? they face Coolderry next who'll be a harder prospect..

The Galway final is on De Domhnaigh- St Thomas' vs Liam Mellowes - church versus revolution

Ballygunner are playing some serious hurling.. getting some soft calls but the Waterford lads are good value for the lead..

some save there now!

Keeper made a boob for one of the B/Gunner goals unless it came off the defenders hand, but didn't look like it.

Better team won with Wayne Hutchinson clearing up a huge amount of ball in the Gunners defence. NaPairsigh lads looked to be carrying a bit more timber, but maybe that's just the jerseys...

Ref is correct in calling a lot of the holding that was going on, that's not tackling and its time referees grew a set and called it.

I'd say the na Piarsaigh lads had some year between winning and groupies

Cody et al wouldn't be happy with that style of refereeing

Some number of reds in that ballyboden coolderry game.

2-16 for brian carroll. Looks to still have it.

Ballyhale look to be a force again, dispatched ballyboden without getting out of second gear.. they'll play the Gunners be a tighter game but should come through.

St Thomas will expect to beat Cushendall but that game will be a lot tighter than what people think

I think you are right on the first one( shootout between omahoney and reid).  Cushendall do not have the forwards to trouble st thomas's though. Not convinced it will be close - particularly if carson missing.

Their defence though is very strong, on a heavy pitch in February (Parnell) it will reduce St Thomas's speed on the ball to some extent.. if they could keep McManus up front he'd be a huge problem for their defenders
