Just when you thought it couldn't get more embarrassing.

The county board statement is embarrassing and I don't know why McKeever didn't respond with "German bastard" and walk away but in this day and age an organisation like the GAA can't have players giving out that sort of abuse. It shouldn't be treated any differently to racist abuse and has to be stamped out if we want to expand in to protestant areas/schools in the north or to other countries.

It's only a f**king mass, would yis wise the fcuk up.
Took the words out of my mouth and I say that as someone who has as much heed in mass as the man in the moon.
No one is going to be marched at gun point to it.

Myles, normally you're sensible but comparing a mass to the burning of flags, get a grip!
And if the IFA wanted to do something similar for a protestant service then fine by me.

Would most of your clubs not hold yearly masses for deceased members or is that an Armagh thing?

They're definitely more reserved/uptight/formal - even with their own families. It's weird.

I use to think laid back friendly sterotype of the Irish was a load of bullshit but it's generally the first thing I notice upon landing at Dublin airport!

I'm all for people on the dole doing a bit to earn their benefits, doing something in the community maybe but it stinks when the tax payer are giving these companies free labour. If they have the jobs go and f**king hire people and pay them a wage they're suppose to!

Doesn't surprise me.

I took the decision over a year ago to boycott Tesco, sainsburys and Asda. They are ruining towns throughout the country. I support my local shops.

How are they ruining towns? They are giving people a choice that choose not to get ripped off by their "local shops".

Town centres are gone. Our local markets, fruit shops, record stores, newsagents, chemists, butchers, bakeries, bookshops etc etc are all suffering or closed down since these b******s moved in. They might sell some things cheaper, but when they've got rid of all the small businesses, then they can charge what they want because there'll be no competition. That's what Walmart have done in America.

If you work for these companies, you could be working anytime from morning til night. No overtime is paid anymore, no Sunday rates.

No thank you, I'll support my local shops, thank you very much.
Are you actually father Jack?

We're entitled to rejoice in Cross' win today, after the ampunt of crying that came out of kerry after the junior semi final. The Dr Crokes jumps on the band wagon slabbering about segragation. They would make you sick.
This is true.
Even I'm almost glad Cross won.

Truth be told if Keane or Cantona had played for Liverpool and commited those acts the United fans would hate them the same way they hate Suarez now. And if Suarez played for United the United fans would love him.
Such a fine line in between being hated and being a hero.
Suarez wouldn't be playing for united if he embarrassed Fergie in the way he embarrassed Dalglish and I couldn't see him having the support of United fans, particularly when he hasn't done anything of note for the club. Do Liverpool fans (the sane ones) love Suarez?

I can't stand Keane but Cantona was right to give a kicking to yon little thug.

Any sign of United reciprocating and apologising for Evra inciting the crowd and creating an even more volatile atmosphere, Rio Ferdinand for not shaking Suarez's hand and Ferguson for sticking his big red nose into how Liverpool run their own Football club??
:D  :D  :D stop, please.

Good to hear Saurez eventaully bit the bullet.

However it would seem that the owners had to step in and set the record straight.

Fair play.

United should now move on.
At what point were United not moving on?

So he has apologised to Dalglish and LFC but cannot overcome his prejudice and apologise to Evra.
Beat me too it.

About time the owners got involved and told them to wise up though.

Mmm, do you not think that's what happened with all the statements today?
Yes, that's what I was saying.

Delighted for Evra. Great to see him celebrating.

Evra made himself look like a dick at the end which is a shame as he had been the bigger man from the start, even Fergie admitted he was wrong to do what he did.
Suarez should have just shook his hand and let that be it, I think he actually is to blame for Liverpool losing or at least for Liverpool playing so poor today as it had to affect the rest of the players especially after the halftime incident which wouldn't have happened if Suarez had just shaken Evra's hand.
Some of the so called United fans on here are a disgrace btw.
Why can a poster get away with wishing a player breaks a leg and the like? If it was said about a GAA player they would be banned from the forum.
I don't know, why are posters getting away with wishing slow painful deaths on managers of teams  ::)

Fergie is a class act, the ultimate WUM, the interview yesterday was excellent and it's some craic watching the liverpool fans with below average IQs (and there seems to be a lot) self imploding.   :D

Interesting views by Ferguson on advising Liverpool on how to handle a player who is a bit of a bad boy. He was quick to boot Cantona out of the club after he jumped into the crowd and kicked a fan on the chest, wasn't he? I can't help thinking that that was a worse incident than a failed handshake!

I've stayed off these threads for a long time but I have to nail that myth.

You do realise that United imposed a lengthy ban on Cantona for that action (which the FA initalliy agreed to but then added on a few months for good measure)? As often happens the facts go out the window when the truth is hard to face. What did Liverpool do to Suarez for racially abusing (it wasn't just a failed handshake and it is disingenuous in the extreme to suggest that's what it is all about) a fellow professional? They indulged him and he threw it back in their face, especially Dalglish's. To be fair, most Liverpool fans with an IQ above 75 see this.

Evra shouldn't have gloated that way and will probably get a ban for it (again note that Ferguson publicly said he shouldn't have done this). In the circumstances would you feel like doing the same if you had been racially abused and your handshake very publicly refused? His reaction was ill-judged but understandable. Racist behaviour is not and should not be tolerated in any way, shape or form. Evra is no saint and I'd suspect he is a pain in the hole to play against but his carry on pales into insignificance to that of Suarez.
Spot on.
