GAA Discussion / How many counties have won the double
November 08, 2008, 01:50:10 PM
Next Sat The Tyrone Association Dublin has their annual dinner dance in Clontarf castle.

We will have the Sam Maguire. Tommy Merrigan and Hogan cups.
Our chairman was asking me are we the 1st county to have all 3 cups at the one time?

Can anyone tell me what counties have done the double and when?

GAA Discussion / Does anyone know who McAfee was?
October 03, 2008, 03:57:31 PM
I was wondering where did our aul friend McAfee disappear to as I hadn't heard any of his shit stirring driffle for a while

So I found this as his last post
Interesting indeed and no doubt he's back on as a newbie or an oldie userid from yester year

Here's his last post?
Does anyone know where's he from and has he crawled back into his hole again after the AI final?

this board is now being told what to do by some one from the owc website.

after looking at the owc web site today i ask what interest do they have in gaa?

the answer is to destroy it.

what interest does this other mc afee at owc have in gaa?does he even exist?

Gaaboardmod3 abused his power in the past to ban me for one week when i should have just been warned.

i got a message today from gaaboardmod3 telling me to change my name because someone on the owc website also has that name and that my name on this board would be deleted at 3 pm.

not only do they want to hurt tony fearon but do they want to control this gaa board as well or is a mod abusing his power because he doesnt like me?

the gaa is the great thing about being irish.its stood strong over a century of british oppression and murder.i am not going to give in to it so i will close my account before they do.

you might not like what i say but i think it is sad that i cant post because of a person who i think has not interest in gaa but to destroy it says so.

remember that our revenge will be the laughter of our children but that and peace will not come until ireland is free.

if you dont see this later you know that owc want to hide the truth.

ive posted my exchange below

goodbye.and i hope kerry hammer tyrone.

We've had a lot of old and "newbie" Posters on here in the last year and with Sunday week being the BIG FINAL I was wondering would posters who are coming to the final fancy meeting up for a wee get together maybe in some pub or even Jurys Hotel so we can put a face to the Name.
I'd say they'll be lots to talk about for this "dream final" and maybe you wanna get the chance to buy Kerry Mike or O'Neill a pint

Personally I'm not a fan of the bigger busier pubs like the Big Tree, Quinns etc so maybe before the match somewhere a bit more quieter if that's possible like maybe Hill 16 or I'm open to suggestions.

I don't suppose anyone know's of a good location with a large function room and a good Big screen for those with NO TICKETS to stay to watch the match?
Would it be hard to organise such a thing?

Folks have many of ye been to watch yer beloved county play a game and any of yer mates from one of your biggest rivals came along to stir it up or just to quietly observe?

In 2004 I was in the house one Sunday and I got a call from a Derry mate who was going to Croker to watch Derry v Kerry in the AI semi's.
I hadn't heard from ANY of my Derry mates in the past year funnily enough but here he was asking me did I fancy popping over to Croker as I lived in Dublin anyways.

Sure I said why Not to I put on the aul Brolly Tyrone Shirt that I wear and went into the Hogan to meet them
Derry were leading my 4 points or so and so I got loads of jeers when I sauntered in with the jersey on.

Unfortunately Derry never scored that half again and Kerry went on to win comfortably.
Of course I was devasted for my fellow neighbours but tried to hide my tears.

My mate returned the favour last August when Meath beat Tyrone again and boy was he popular with my fellow Tyrone friends. NOT!!!

Have any of ye had similar experiences and do you think this is fair enough behaviour or bang out of order
Especially when tickets are at a premium for some games like Louth.

Sorry folks if there is already a thread on Euro 2008 but to be honest I just didn't bother searching and I've not posted a new topic in years

Yeah me and 2 other lads are off to Basle on 21st June for this quarterfinal between winners group C and runners up group D.

Group C
France
Italy
Netherlands
Romania

Group D
Greece
Russia
Spain
Sweden

I know they are turning the main street in city into a big fanzone and so there are  loads of Big screens but we'd love to get tickets.
I don't want to be paying way over the odds so does anyone have any tips or contacts as all the tickets have already been handed out to the diff countries.

Any idea how much tickets are at face value?
