Thinking of getting one of these trail cameras which record wildlife movement at night. I reckon the garden at the back of my house turns into a mini zoo overnight and would like to see what is occurring. I see all sorts of cameras on Amazon but would like to get one which has least bother viewing in the morning. I think some can transfer to your phone via an app..anyone any experience of them or know anything about them... best makes etc...

Haven't used on yet myself, but we bought my father-in-law a Campark model one last year. They're from the western US, so there's lots of wildlife like grizzly bears, black bears, mountain lions, elk, moose etc. to be seen.

We also got him a device to hook into his phone so he could view the recorded data on the SD card. Mospro was the model. Can be plugged into iPhone or Android.

Haven't had a chance to review the results yet though as we haven't been out there since.

Wirecutter, a NY Times consumer site, does best-of lists for all kinds of stuff.

They recommend Wildgame Innovations options, as of last summer: https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-trail-cameras/

I'm sure there are lots of reviews from hunting and wildlife ecology sites too.

This small mammal study in Scotland used Bushnell brand. Presumably they're available for shipping?

Had thought about this myself. Quite a bit of fox activity down the end of the garden in the bit that i deliberately left a bit wild. I see 3 or 4 foxes just sitting at the end of the garden sunning themselves during the day. Seems to keep the cat shit down.
