Kicking ourslves again with GAA not giving pitches for Liam Miller charity match.

https://www.buzz.ie/football/fans-lash-gaa-permission-refused-pairc-ui-chaoimh-host-liam-miller-charity-match-292866

I think the GAA should have passed a resolution for charity events (as distinct from competitive games) years ago, from the time of the Omagh bombing. But there is no point in people ranting about the GAA in relation to this particular event, the rules cannot be changed in a few weeks.  Asking for Pairc Ui Chaoimh until that change takes place is a bit like the Brexiteers asking for free access to the Single Market.

They could be in bother with their €30m EU grant which has conditions surrounding letting the community use it.
Hopefully someone will take the case and they'd be stripped of the grant

Edit:
Government grant but ruled on over state aid by the EU

The incident in belfast with the car driving the wrong way down the m2. Something seriously wrong as there were reports of the car going very fast so it seems more than someone just making a stupid mistake.

Very sad for the person who died. What would you do with a car coming straight for you at significant speed.

Air ambulance used! Horrific to be involved in that, I just missed it after coming home from a game..how you'd be feeling if you were a first responder to that, or the one in Banbridge

There is something very sinister about that m2 incident. Maybe it was a suicide.

Awful for all involved. :(

Was it the driver of the rogue car who died?

Wife had said that the car that was allegedly driving down the wrong way was never stopped
