Declan Meehan goal.
Jack o shea also against roscommon was a fine goal

Jack O'Shea did not score a goal against Roscommon in an AI final.

Joe Kavanagh scored 2 great goals in 1993 and 1999 and was on losing team on both occasions.

Neither were better than O'Driscoll's. The pass and finish were sublime:

I'd also agree on John O'Driscoll's goal. I was in the Nally Stand that day and it was as sweet a strike you will ever see.

I'd go for Deccie Meehan's. One of the best goals I've seen at intercounty level never mind best in a final. Others mentioned here really good too.

Sportacus

Spillane's palmed goal against Tyrone deserves a mention. It was odd, but pure instinct and sticks in the memory.

Canavan v Kerry 2005.

Lock the thread.

My favourite
Only square inch of the goal he could have found and he found it
Mugsy catch made it
Not a goal you see that often anymore
High ball in full forward catches it lays it off forward scores

Agree. Would have been easy to fcuk that up and he'd have looked a right twat if he did.

Most famous anyway whatever about the best.

You've got to look at the context of the goal and in fairness nudge and all in the back it was well placed

Deccie Meehan 2000.

I'm biased but haven't seen a better goal in a final than that one. Every pass from one corner of the field to the other was close to perfect. As was the finish.

No doubt Darby's is the most famous/important.

And also off his weaker side, defender diving in front of him, goalkeeper to beat, the only place he could have put it and he had the composure to roll it in. It was sublime - not forgetting the great ball by Jordan and set up by Mulligan.

He got an absolute gem of a point from the sideline in the second half too.

It was some way to sign off from the greatest ever.

Din Joe Crowley scored a brilliant goal for Kerry in the 1970 final v Meath. Great solo run and cracking finish.

Seán O'Neill scored a classy goal in the 1968 final. Great coolness

Murt Connor's goal for Offaly at a vital time in 71 final wasn't bad either. Out in front of defender, catch ball, swivel and bury it. I'm sure older Biffos still relish it.
