In reply to Ed Ricketts -  Oh Yes £1400 is correct if you are on Employment Support Allowance and getting all the premiums along with the higher rate of DLA/PIP......

You don't get that through just being unemployed though. You have to be deemed disabled and unfit to work etc? Exception not rule...

Shortages in housing and hospital beds has nothing to do with immigration and everything to do with a government failing the people. Blaming these issues on immigrations exonerates those who should be doing their jobs better. It's a lazy stereotype.

It is ridiculous to say that an increase in people has nothing to do with housing shortages. That is one thing that characterises this debate, ridiculous blanket statements one way or the other.
How much of  the increase in people is due to immigration though?

Slightly less than the decrease due to emigration.

Are you sure?

Also dla fraud etc costs the the uk lot less than is peddled. I would suggest Tory cronyism costs the uk significantly more than any of that kind of fraud.

Well again only in my experience know plenty on it with the square root of feck all wrong with them but lazyitis. Then you hear of horror stories of people who genuinely should be getting it and refused. Oh absolutely agree on the Tory greed being a far bigger problem

There is a playbook for that, it's not difficult.

And as for the double murder in Sligo  :-[

Milltown Row2

There was something on tv the other night, uk cost of living...

For a genuine working family with kids trying to pay for things over a month, they had less that £60 to spend on 'extras' after their basic bills came out, they hadn't a big house, lived in council estate, rented house, motor bike and secondhand car. No holidays to look forward to, living from one paycheque to the next.

That's hard to stomach when there are ones beating the system and getting money for nathin
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

Ai but it's also hard to stomach the corruption in politics and the complete lack of interest  in doing anything about the likes of energy costs, fuel costs etc etc. I honestly think there is a period of civil unrest coming because there are going to be a lot of people who can't afford the basics.

I know people who work in the benefits departments in the civil service and apparently you see multiple generations of the same family coming in following the playbook. Fire out weans as early as possible, get some on a statement at school,  DLA, full benefits etc. etc.

So not accurate then. Thanks.
Doc would listen to any kind of nonsense and change it for you to a kind of wisdom.

Don't see the issue with the Rwanda deterrent. As mentioned, it's terrible that there are people having to flee their homes due to war and terror, but France is a safe place as is most of the other countries they pass through before getting to France.

We have never had a competent executive in place and that is a major factor in a lot of our issues, but immigration is definitely a major factor too when in comes to a shortage of houses and hospital beds.

Immigration in the uk is a big bogey man. It's not immigrants fault the nhs is chronically underfunded - it's governments. Uk wide at present it is currently the most corrupt government on record. I don't think here we are much better with the "big two" either. Look at rhi, red sky etc etc. Politicians are unaccountable for anything they do and then immigrants and dole seekers get the blame for being a drain on society when they cost a fraction of what is , let's be honest, outright corruption.

People would ask where the money would come from to fund these things. Well billions upon billions are being wasted.
