Friend of mine did something similar, staying at his second cousins', got up to use loo and went back to the wrong bedroom. Hopped in beside the da. It happens.

sure what would be the point of doing it earlier, you'd only be walking about dirtying it? This way you can hoover right up to the bed and so get up to a clean house in the morning.
