Now that we have this lovely new home how about setting up a bit of structure to the place.

How about a section just for clubs, you could have the GAA Discussion Board section for national GAA issues only with different sub sections for football and hurling if required, a club section with sub sections by province and county, and a Non GAA discussion section. It would give a better structure to our house and everone would find somewhere to browse and contribute if they wanted to. At the moment you open the front page and the majority of what you see is not interesting and its turning people away while we should in fact be trying to get more people involved.

Alot of other Discussion boards will have sub sections and then people wont get frustrated and not contribute at all if there is nothing to look at but the fortunes of some junior football team from some county that most people will not have any interest in.

We have lost alot of the excellent hurling chat for that reason.

GAA Discussion / GPA Hurler of the Year
November 10, 2006, 10:51:44 AM
Being announced tonight also in the Citywest. 5 nominees instead of 4 for the football.

Very tough to call here, Kilkenny won the double but Cork played some good hurling and won through some tough close games.

King Henry was only on fire during the last 2 AI games, Donal Og had a great season but will his ties to the GPA hinder his vote.

I think Tommy Walsh or Cha Fitzpartick might sneak it and from what I have seen of Walsh this year he will get my vote. Thought he was very consistant in most games.

GAA Discussion / GPA Football Player of the year

The GPA awards are on in the Citywest tonight.
Who is your favourite to win the Opel sponsored car?

Logic would say it will be Donaghy or O'Se or will there be an anti-Kerry voting block to vote in Clarke or McDonald.

Personally I would vote for O'Se I thought he had a great years league and championship, while Donaghy was in good form earlier in the year the move to Full forward transformed his and our season. He contributed hugely to our AI success in the last 4 games but I think the amount of ball won in midfield by O'Se and the way he controlled games was a bigger factor.

Anyway its up to the players votes themselves so we will see tonight what their take on the season is.
Lets see who can match their vote here?

KM has landed safely after a bumpy journey through cyberspace, is it still November 9th 2045?

Just checked there and yes we still have Sam Maguire and Liam McCarthy in our grasp after our double 5-in-a-row and 53 football All Irelands...... phew thought for a moment I might have lost a few on the trip through time.

Mother of God and her holy donkey there are alot of options above. Whats this button for holy shite

Looks good. Well done to all.

Lets hope the Admin and the team of moderators put a bit of a block on some of the flood of shite we have seen recently back on the old board.

Where are my 2500+ posts gone.........at least TF will struggle for a while.
