Tyrone wild unlucky at the final hurdles the last few years. If Sean Cavanagh wasn't harshly sent off agin Mayo last year Im pretty sure they would have won it. Serious amount of possession squandered that day. I have no doubt if the big man was still on the field he would have fired a lot of them missed chances  over the bar. Mayo like nearly everyone targets Sean and maybe karma caught up with Mayo  in the final.

Anyone looking rid of Micky Harte deserves the fools pardon.

Any wan know when the tickets are available. With Dublin playing first it could be wild hard to get some.

I thought Rodgers was from NI. He has a Scottish accent in interviews

I come from near him. People on the North Antrim coast speak with a Scottish "blur".

That was a pure gem thanks for sharing. You won't find honest commentary like that in the BBC.

When I think of these orangemen I  just automatically think of a family tree with no branches. The end product, a Jim Allister type. You know the one's Im talking about, you see them out marching on the 12th with the two big toes facing each other.

My brother an elected representative from North Antrim two years ago tried to get Loyalists from a small village called Dervock to remove Loyalist flags and slogans they had put up on the local  Catholic church.

He went to the local papers and the RUC to make his complaint but it all fell on deaf ears.  That 12th the Loyalists made an effigy of my brother on their bonfire claiming he was a dead man. A few weeks later they fire bombed his house. Thankfully they weren't home.

Im from a small mixed village and relations are top notch. However come marching season it gets very tense. One of the main reasons is the putting up of Bristish buntings and flags which is not good. Its proocitive and unnecessary. If the shoe was on the other foot I would be embarrassed to put up Irish flags knowing it would hurt peoples feelings.

ELEVEN MILLION Germans
Were Murdered AFTER WWII
By Richard K. Mariani
5-10-9

The book "Gruesome Harvest," should be on the mandatory highschool and college reading list for history and sociology.

It is one of the few books that are available in English that address the murder of millions of non-combatant German civilians and German prisoners of war from 1944 to 1950 as a matter of deliberate allied policy not inefficient logistics as it is most often presented in school text books.

It is important because this book was written as it was still happening and includes comments from eye witnesses in the same time period. The book is not politically correct and shocked me because it speaks in a such a predudicial fashion about persons of the black race.

That however in this point makes it useful to sociologist and historians because it correctly reflects widely held opinion at the time within U.S. society.

As to the correct observation that allied policy was to reduce the German population through, murder in multiple forms, slave labor, and starvation, and destroy the fabric of the society through mass rape of the female population, other authors are critized for saying the same thing but only decades later.

Fact is there is a great effort to keep this information from the public because it shows that the victors of WWII incorporated not only military strategy and tactics but also the NAZI ideology of racial hatred and a policy of extermination and discrimination for one people.

Four million persons perished because of the ethnic cleansing carried out by, Russians, Poles, Czechs, and Serbs according to the former German Prime Minister Konrad Adenauer,

Five million Germans starved to death in occupied Germany according to estimates by the Canadian James Bacque, and 2 million German Soldiers died in allied captivity often while performing slave labor in Auschwitz like - and worse - conditions.

General Eisenhower prohibited the German Public from sharing their own meager rations with detained German soldiers on pain of death. Hence from 1944 until 1948 a U.S. and Russian Holocaust for the Germans was on going.

For more information on this topic see books by the following authors: James Bacque (Other Losses) (Crimes and Mercies), Alfred M. de Zayas (Die Wehrmacht-Untersuch ungstelle) and (The Nemisis of Potsdam), Guido Knopp (Die Gefangenen), Erich Kern and Karl Balzer (Allierte Verbrechen and Deutschen). A similarly important historical document is the book titled (Alliierte Kriegsverbrechen) which translates to "Allied War Crimes".

It is a collection of historical information of eyewitness experiences of hundreds of Allied war crimes.

This information was written down in 1946 by German Soldiers held prisoner in Camp 91 in Darmstadt by U.S. forces.

Lawyers for the defense hoped to bring some of this information as evidence and perhaps for mitigation to the Nüremberg Tribunal but the it was not permitted. In fact the Commander of Camp 91 attempted to collect and destroy all copies of this book.

That is why it is important that as many people read the afore mentioned books as possible. They need to be translated into English and widely read so that the fairy tale of WWII as the last "Good War" can finally be put to rest.

Tyrone / Re: Tyrone Club Football and Hurling

Watched a Garret Devlin from Tyrone kick some fantastic points in Gaelic Park Chicago yesterday.I think someone said he's from Dungannon. Great scores from the corner flag.

I'm taking a wild chance here. Not from Tyrone but following them for over 20 years. Booked tickets from Chicago to Dublin for family of four for the match on 5th August. Hoping that Tyrone will be playing that day. But I think if Dublin  win Leinster it will be down as a double header so I know its going to be all ticket. Now that could be a disaster getting a ticket if Dublin and Tyrone are on in the same day.

You know when all is said and done there is no substitute for sheer determination.

Hardstation you are right. The boys against men comment was not suited to this game at all. However though, if it was the game last week where Tyrone beat a very young Donegal team then I would agree.

Thought that match was fantastic entertainment this evening and was delighted Down won despite most people including the  "experts" writing them off.

People usually base their opinions on past games to form an opinion. But i think its just all on the day. Down obviously put in a lot of hard hours behind the scenes to get to this level that quite a few didn't notice. It must be great to go into a game as big underdogs.

As they say what doesn't kill you will make you stronger. The defeat to Kerry in the all Ireland semi final two years ago and the loss to Mayo last year must have sickened this Tyrone team. Games they could have won but lost. The fans media etc might get a little animated with the performances so far in the championship but you can be guaranteed the management and players will be pretty grounded. A telling point was in Mickys interview after the game where he talked more so about things they could have improved on as opposed to the the performance they just put in.

If Tyrone can keep their players moving like they did on Sunday past rather than getting bogged down in a war of attrition they have the right tools at their disposal to make a great impression on this years championship.

A few things that impressed me about Tyrone on Sunday.

1 The discipline in the tackle. No big clumsy agriculture challenges, waited patiently for opponent to show the ball and made clean contact with the interception.

2 Decision making. Thought that the players made fantastic choices with their passing when under pressure. Nearly always took the right option. Very unselfish, very fluent and easy on the eye. Extremly hard to defend against for the opposition.

3 Point scoring. Although the reward is only one point for scoring 45 meters out on the wing. It is a much more difficult task than scoring a goal from 10 yards out with only the keeper to beat. The high point ratio over 40 in two championship games shows how ruthless Tyrone are. It shows more play when you get 3 points as opposed to 1 goal.

4 The amount of players that got on the score sheet I think it was 10 which shows an all round well balanced team effort. It also shows their not reliant on certain forwards to do their their bidding. The good weather helped enormously with that. Thats why  I believe Tyrone always excel in Croke ParK. Usually because its towards the better part of the year and its more sheltered.

5 The cohesiveness of play. Tyrone were hard to predict what they were going to do next.

6 Ball control. The confidence each player displayed on the ball. No panic even when under pressure. Almost like they were coached by Brian McGuigan.

7 Fitness and energy levels. Thought the players looked very strong and extremely fast.

8 Peter Hartes point. Two outrageous dummies before firing over the bar.

9 Subs. Despite clearing the bench I thought they showed for a lot for the ball.

10 Still no word of Lee Brennan maybe he's being kept for later on in the year.

Thats just somethings i can think of, off the cuff. I worry that a lot of the big teams will try using horse play on Tyrone later on in the championship. Example that carry on with Sean Cavanagh last year agin Mayo.

Fuzzman I like you're style. You and the bomber wouldn't look out of place along the side line with Micky.

Colm Cavanagh delivered a masterclass today.

Great performance but Donegal threw the towel in when Tyrone got on top so not an awful lot can be read from that.

He did indeed. That man would burst a blood vessel trying to get a finger tip on the ball. A very brave player who would go in to tackles where people wouldn't throw their hat.

So many outstanding performances from Tyrone today. However the next day it starts off at zero zero. They will have to hit the rest button again.

They're will be some competition for places. Must say when Tyrone open up they are beautiful to watch.

Advice to Tyrone Gaels make sure Micky Hartes tea is made with water with a high PH level and eats nothing but organic food. He's some man to have. 8)
