More like he couldn't do it on a wet windy night in Stoke. Crazy that 2 failed former Stoke strikers were leading the line at the end of a Champions League Semi Final.
Who's the other one?

Always great to see stories like this. Only got his first Spain cap last year too at 32. Unbelievable night for him and his family.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting
Thanks. They just missed each other at Stoke too I see. Very similar strike rate as well.
seen something the other day that a member of that Stoke 15/16 squad has played in CL semi finals something like 12 of the last 20 years.

Laois / Re: 2024 Joe McDonagh Cup

Granted Portlaoise is a football first, hurling second club but with the numbers living in Portlaoise a long term plan at revitalising hurling in the club should yield some quality players. Obviously, it will take a ground up approach but with the population there and with the funding that is available to counties there is no excuse really.

It's a great point you make regarding the townlands in Laois. GAA in urban areas in Laois is really struggling in many of our towns and has been for a long time. Showing some initiative, getting good people involved and putting the work in at underage as Abbleyleix/(Ballyroan) and Portarlington have done shows what is possible. Portarlington is a football town but is now starting to feed players into underage hurling county squads. Not something anyone would have foreseen a few years back.

Quote from: Snapchap on Today at 07:36:14 AMWell, truthsayer, you say the satanism is just young ones dressing up and having a but if craic, but it is more than that in Bambi Thug's case. She literally self-identifies as a witch.

Some lads here love to think they are awfully progressive and trigger happy smearing other people as narrow minded bigots. Whatever makes you feel good about yourselves. Personally, I think a grown adult actually believing herself to be a witch and running about in plastic horns, chrome nails and covered in body paint looks absolutely f**king ridiculous.

I saw some of the clips of "celebs" arriving at the met gala the other day in the most ridiculous outfits you could imagine. One was a woman wearing a dress that she was wrapped so tight in that she literally couldn't walk into the venue and had to be lifted and carried, upright, by her minders. I thought she looked f**king ridiculous but I suppose she's just really progressive and I'm a closed minded bigot.
satanists and witches arent the same thing ffs. Something tells me people here lack understanding of what satanism is. As for the freakshow comments. Little boys trying to look tough

I've worked out over the years that the control buttons on the remote for the TV allow you to turn over and not be offended, it also works for Stephen Nolan

And they may well think Wranglers, tucked in checked shirts and brown slip on boots are ridiculous.. Surely each to their own?

They may well think so. And they should be absolultely entitled to think as much without the likes of yourself riding in on your high horse to accuse them of being narrow minded bigots. Similarly, while I think a grown adult is entitled to self-identify as a witch, wear plastic horns and chrome claws and insist on being called 'they', I'm still allowed to say that I think they come across as absolutely ridculous.

No high horse here...calling a person a 'freak' etc because they look or behave differently, surely thats not cool in any man's language?

And yes, if course you're allowed to call someone 'absolutely ridiculous' , but it has to be a 2 way street, no?

I've called nobody a freak but there's a mentality among some that any criticism of Bambi is used as an excuse to throw around accusations of bigotry or intolerance. And of course it's a two way street. That's why I said Bambi would be perfectly entitled to regard someone in jeans and a tshirt who doesn't self-identify as a f**king witch, as ridiculous.

Quote from: J70 on Today at 12:10:39 AMI don't know. I just have visions of Rian O'Neill giving a Tohillesque tour de force, driving Armagh on to win through sheer force of will.

Pundits leaning Armagh from what I've heard so far. "It's their time!" seems to be the consensus.

O'Neill will do well to see out the game!

on what basis?

He's a hothead...could have went 3 times with close fist tackles / hits along the Gerry Arthur side last year.

he looks to have settled some this year, albeit he hasnt played an awful lot. I hope he has as we wont win without him
Think he's definitely learned to play on the edge not over it. Absolutely we need him in top form to have any hope

It has worked out well playing him around the middle in the last few games since he can play his way into the game, get on the ball a lot more and therefore he doesn't get as frustrated as when he is playing inside. The break has done him good and his long range kicking ability and free taking will be vital on Sunday.
