Completely disagree...simple solution is split Dublin. Just to big population wise to play counties like Laois and Offaly.

The GAA correctly pumped money into Dublin, to grow participation rates....(Laois offaly and Carlow already had good participation rates so money not needed)

A byproduct of this was Dublin intercounty team becoming too strong ( but still worthwhile exercise to grow playing numbers, (the true goal of gaa)

So it's now time to split Dublin...This idea of young laois players being excluded from top competion is a disgrace...I think your idea  disgrace. Just split the 1.5m population county in 2...simple as

Dublin playing the other top 7 (Tyrone, Mayo, Cork, Kerry, Donegal, Galway, plus another) home or away over 10-12 weeks with the top 4 making the semis may not dominate forever more.
Dublin, being able to sleepwalk through Leinster and peak for a few games in August probably will.

This is not like the 60s/70s/80s or even 90s when you a Dublin/Kerry/Cork/Galway were delighted to get a good team together, picked it, left it as it was unless a fella retired or died, thanked the Lord for their current riches and roundly accepted that it wouldn't last forever.
Things are a hell of a lot more scientific now.
The top teams are constantly evolving in terms of both personnel and approach.
There is huge energy and resource going into ensuring that there is a constant supply line coming behind.
They are there to stay.

To remain an attractive proposition the GAA must change.
Laois be better off trying to win a Division 2 championship. If able to do so, you'd fear for the following year in Division 1, but that's another days work.

The football semi final draws that have taken two months to organise are coming up. There was never any explanation for that.

a genius....but his own club which has numbers rest of teams could only dream about, is a shambles at hurling

he was given job to find manager once for laois....cudnt get anyone and just took job himself.

no track record to speak of, has a bit of profile from woolys podcast, but has nice nickname so he must he answer.

on different matter I remember Parkinson boasting how he would get a lift to laois training from red cow, but still claim mileage even though he didnt drive.

grates me then listening to him giving out and mocking county board volunteers when you see type of character he is

Eddie brennan  seemed to imply he wanted club championship run off a a blitz, bar not having 2 physios, he didnt make one coherent point to woolly, just enjoyed giving out for sake of it.  I'd love to see him continue, maybe he should offer to half his fee as contrition for rubbish he spreading.

Apologies OHara, I should have added I recognise your correct about Portlaoise and our lack of progress with hurling ,god knows I know it inside out.

But I do believe Chedder ,for example,  would be an amazing figure head for Laois GAA..I genuinely believe if given the power and resources to implement his ideas he would make Laois a top hurling and football county or at least be the best we can be  way above where we are now. Itll never happen but the man is a genius in a GAA sense and also a business sense...He is made for the job.

high fielder could write a book and county board problems, but cant be bothered point out any of the issues here.

eddie brennan the same,  gave out about them, without actually really saying what he unhappy with.

Am I right in saying the Map in picture on laois today is wrong. Is it Laois today's map or county boards???.. Spink doesnt border any of the clubs in South region I reckon. I wonder is it a mistake  or done on purpose to cover up Spink farce.
