was in Milan back in October & went to Lake Como on a day tour did the full lake round trip tour! it's a beautiful part of Italy was used for James bond film Casino Royale & one stop on the trip Bellagio is where Steve Wynn was inspired to build bellagio hotel Las Vegas

Milan itself is a lot different from the other museum type cities in Italy, if Art is your thing the last Supper painting is there but has to be booking online in advance for weeks,

Cathedral (Duomo) is well worth seeing it's a Gothic type church your allowed to walk the roof if you have a head for heights,
San Siro is also something to see even though you won't be there for a game
The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

I was in Milan for a couple of days early this year.

I got to admit that San Siro aside I was pretty unimpressed!

Head northwards into Switzerland and visit the Montreux Jazz Festival on the shore of Lake Geneva.  There's a direct train from Montreux to Milan so you could join on somewhere along the line.

Was in Milan a couple of years ago. Thought it was a tip of a city. San Siro looks good, but inside it is stinking. The cathedral mentioned below was the only decent thing I recall from my 3 drunken days there
