And came away from the game thinking they got an easy touch too.

Did you ever get an easy touch in Carrick, Syf?
If you were any use you'd be playing.

He probably is too young to get into Murtaghs or Dunnes still so it's unlikely.

Leitrim have won just 3 matches v Waterford,Wicklow and Louth last week and they shipped almighty beating off Armagh in 2013 but Lovely Leitrim have given hot favouritres big scares down the years in the qualifiers in Carrick on Shannon.

2002 Leitrim 1-11 Roscommon 2-9 (Last minute winning goal for the rossies)
2005 Leitrim 1-8 Meath 1-12  (game went to extra time)
2006 Leitrim 0-9 Sligo 1-7
2007 Leitrim 1-12 Donegal 1-14 (game went to extra time)
2009 Leitrim 0-10 Longford 0-13
2011 Leitrim 1-11 Laois 1-13

A scare or straightforward win for Monaghan this weekend? i'd go for the latter with Monaghan to win by 10+ points.

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Emlyn Mulligan said he's won one Connacht championship game against Sligo in his career, but none against Galway, Mayo or Ros! And much to his disappointment, he's never played in Croker, but is hoping for a good run in Div 4 next year to put that right.

The current Monaghan team are some distance of those teams there.

Going by the match reports Leitrim turned in a very decent performance against Louth.
The odds are against them turning in 2 big performances in a row, especially against Division 1 opposition.

Monaghan have drawn 2 Division 4 teams in the qualifiers so far; a win here and they have a one in three shot of drawing Laois, another side who were playing Division 4 football this year.
If they managed this, it would surely be one of the easiest ever runs for a side through the qualifiers.

Roscommon 2003 were at similar level to what Monaghan are now and Donegal 2007 were Div 1 league champions. I do agree on paper it could turn out to be one of the easiest runs for side to reach the last eight but will that be a help of hindrance to them before they play the better sides in a few weeks?

The current Monaghan team have lost to Down, Fermanagh and Longford in the championship the last three seasons. Some people seem to rate them higher than their results suggest they should. I don't know why.

Did Leitrim play Dublin in Carrick one year and give them enough of it? Maybe Im losing it.

Jinxy

They played us and it took a last minute point from Ollie Murphy to send it to extra-time.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

They did in 2004 but Dublin ran out easy winners in the 2nd half to win 1-13 to 0-4.

Dublin are normally at that score these days after 15 minutes against most of the so called big teams in Leinster.

Dublin were no great shakes in 04 but they went on to beat us in Round 4 in "neutral Croke Park".
We were inept enough that year under the stewardship of Tommy Tom Tom.
