Was there myself on honeymoon in February. Very much doubt you'll find anywhere showing GAA matches. Enjoy Mauritius though. Its class.

QuoteChrist, this place is going down hill.

Agreed. What a load of rubbish.

The comparison with Devenney doesn't wash with me. Knocking the refs book out of his hand is not as bad as actually pushing him. Defo not as threatening. Eveyone knows refs must be protected but suspensions need to be measured. 12 weeks would have been enough. He'll have to go through appeals and all that now and will probably get it reduced to 12 weeks but if they'd given the right suspension first off it would save all this extra adverse publicity.

I was in utter disbelief when I heard what they had given him. Incredible stuff. If Sligo somehow slip up and don't take the Sam Maguire then I really hope Kerry do this year.

If you think you only have to persuade/the only "problem" are those who bought into Sinn Féin's or Libertas' message then you are more deluded than our politicians. I think Irish people are happy to be part of the EU and thankful for all it has done for us. A sizeable portion do not want the EU to take further control over the running of our country. Many see the EU going down the route of ending up as a susperstate and do not want that so are calling STOP now. In fairness if they didn't, it could have happened without their say so at some later date.

That's where we are at. Stop talking rubbish about Mary Lou and others that even fewer people listen to than Cowen and Inda and Gilmore. They have nothing/very little to do with shaping the future not should they.

QuoteAt one stage, it was - "Ye know, Michael.....Ah, sorry, you're not as good looking as Michael."

Yeah, that was really cringeworthy stuff alright. He's an awful dose.

Thanks guys. Can't view youtube here but will have a look when I go home and prove to my wife it wasn't something I made up!

He will get 12 weeks I would expect. Fair play to him on the apology and the acceptance of his error. Some might disagree but I think it shows honour and courage to come out the day after an incident like this and say what he did. He's bound to be hurting and the easy thing would be to hide away.

Lads and lassies - a bit off topic (sorry thread police) but whats the tune that played over the Etihad advert just at the end of the ad breaks on the live programme on Sunday? I saw the video recently but didn't catch the name and its hilarious. Basically its a bar in Wales on St Davids Day in 1989 and some guy just lands in and starts these crazy dance moves much to the consternation of all around (including a guy in a fetching vest who spits his pint of bitter across the room!).

Listen to the people. Put this treaty in front of all the people of Europe and see if they want it.

Listen to them.

Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods for me. Ali's greatness was to do with more than sport.

I agree with Sligonian on the attitude of a huge number of Sligo people. It is defeatist and sad alright. I wouldn't be as outspoken as Sligonian about it but I've rarely if ever gone to a Sligo game thinking we're not going to win. Some might call that mental illness but lets not go down that road!

In the 1997 Connacht final Mayo were poor but Sligonian is right - our lads did give them too much respect. Blast is also right - for most of that game we were worse. We only woke up near the end and realised Mayo were there for the taking and nearly caught them. That was my view anyway.

Sunday will be interesting. We have our flaws and Mayo certainly has more depth of talent in their county. However, I know our lads work well as a team. It remains to be seen if Mayo can get their players working well as a team to get the best out of them. The jury will be out on that one until about 5pm Sunday at the earliest.

QuoteHave Ballisodare improved much since the soccer season has ended Seanie? Where are there best players positioned?

I think they have improved a wee bit alright but it has to be remembered that we were chronic. The Fallon bros are good players (midfield and centre forward - the guy in midfield really cleaned up) and one or two other lads kicked some great scores with the aid of the breeze in the first half. We have shipped 13 goals in 3 games now. Brutal.

I agree - Pat O'Shea's comments were poor.

Apologies to the Dubs lads for not saying so earlier. They are right to highlight that this was a case where a lot of us were slower to criticise a non-Dub versus Pillar.
