Getting a while feeling from listening to a few radio interviews and podcasts that McShane isn't the most popular member of the panel, at least not with a few lads especially Morgan.

Can't tell if it's more than a bit of good natured jibing or more deep seated.

Heard the Morgan interview. Who else has been saying it. Colm cavanagh said Morgan and mcshane were cutting lumps out of each after training

The original Morgan interview, the colm cav comments on that and then the morgan and meyler comments on the BBC sounds pod from monday.

I'm not so sure. A small bit of fortune in their most recent game and Donegal could have won it.
McGee off injured in the opening few minutes. McKernan could easily have seen black for it too.
Murphy hits the foot of the post with a penalty to put them 5 ahead. Different game if that goes in.
Minutes later he gets sent off rather foolishly. His first yellow was soft too.

While Tyrone then went on to be the better team on the day, they were certainly helped by coming out the right side of these 50:50 moments.
Tyrone went on to deservedly win the AI and must be given the credit for that but if these 2 teams meet again next year I wouldn't be running out to bet on it.

The penalty wasn't a penalty, so them being unfortunate missing it is more than outweighed by the fortune they got for getting the pen and the black card in the first place.
Murphy's first yellow was a yellow all day long, his black should have been a straight red. Again, nothing unlucky about that.

There was 50/50 moments, we were unlucky on some of them and fortunate on others but by no means were we lucky in anyway at all. By far the better team all game that day.

Tyrone would have a long way to go to be spoken off in the echelons of Ulster aristocracy.

That's as bad a take as you could hope to see.

Ulster football pre 1950 was essentially Cavan running riot. When Tyrone won their first Ulster title in 1956, Cavan were on 33. Since then because the rest of Ulster have their house in order Cavan have only added 6 to Tyrone's 16.

So anyway, we're joint second now in Ulster titles and just 1 AI behind Cavan and Down. I know I'd be optimistic about us picking up our next one before either of those teams regardless of how long it takes.

Can we catch Cavan for Ulster titles, who knows, but not in our lifetimes thank god because we now have an actual competitive championship which means something to the teams in it and the fans.

Morgan - 30
McNamee - 30
Harte - 30
M. Donnelly - 30
T. McCann - 30
Sludden - 29
McCurry - 28

Any concerns about any of the lads calling it a day? There's a big fall off once lads hit 30, I doubt too many of them will have more than a handful of seasons and that's really the spine of the team. If we could get another few years of them and then you'd be looking at the minors from this year starting to break through we could be OK.

More than one Brolly. Both Spillane and ORourke have also gone on public agenda driven personal attacks against players. They may not do it as often but the effect on their victim is just as strongly felt.

We could win the AI again next year or get put out in the prelim of Ulster.

I do think we'll def be a stronger panel next year. You'd wonder if the old dogs in the panel will keep the same hunger now they've finally gotten over the line.

I dont think McShane will get one but would he be the first man to get one without starting a game all championship???

Ref had no real bearing on game. Best team won. More belief, better individually, signficantly better tactically.

I'd agree with that. Both teams had a few things they could moan about from the ref but they probably balance out over the course of the game. Mayo lost because Tyrone played better than them on the day.

McCurry scored 1-30 this year against top opposition all the way through. Fantasic and I'd have more respect for that than the likes of Sean OShea running up the scores against poor opposition.

Meyler POTY for me after the last three games where it really mattered. I think McGeary's performance vs Kerry was over stated a little bit, by me too. I rewatched the game last week and I don't think he was a  good as Meyler when watching it in the cold light of day.

McCurry has put himself back in the reckoning. He started the year playing incredible, struggled a wee bit against Monaghan and Kerry but stood up massively at the weekend.
