Fior Gael- truly you are the gael .We know you.I think we have leaders in Liam Doyle or James Colgan -both know what it takes to captain AI winning teams and both are potential CHBs- the perfect position for a Captain.BTW who is our captain?I've been to most games this season and still don't know

I thought Mc Govern was very unlucky- the Westmeath man was up for the rumble and James beat him to it ( where have we heard that before).I think the crowd got him sent-off.He will not miss the Sigerson- different competitions- have that on good authority.See the final is live on TG4.

Aristotle,is the point of discussion boards not to discuss ?You're also factually wrong but that's not the point.Rover, your point about Liverpool is ?Anyway, the best way to Cusack Park is through Ardee and I hope plenty of you make the journey.

Rover, for a man who has a lot of opinions, your support for the lads appears patchy at best. I suppose you will be in with the fat cats at Croke, enjoying your pizza in the corporate section, singing GSTQ? ;)

Think you are over-optimistic Rover.I thought Scullion tightened up the defence well against Kildare while Cunningham was off the pace in Drogheda.Dan is unlikely to regain his true form in 2 weeks and I think we will struggle, even if they are without Flanagan. Are you going yourself ?

GAA Discussion / Nudie Hughes/Setanta deal
February 13, 2007, 10:44:19 PM
Another excellent Laochra gael on TG4. He was a tremendous footballer with no fear. They didn't have his goal from the early 90s ( was it against Armagh?) when he sold a great dummy and buried it - I think it was covered by the BBC. That got me thinking about this deal the GAA have done with Setanta. Will we be able to see these great players in years to come if the rights have been sold?Does anyone know the terms of the deal, what did the GAA get,how long does it last and who were the negotiators ?

GAA Discussion / Re: Laochra Gael Mickey Linden

Surely the cry was 'skin him Mickey' as opposed to roast. Might you he did both. I ordered my 2 children to watch (at the expense of OC) and they were mesmorised. A bit like Gary Coleman.

Here here here
My people are from Mourne, my Granny was from Cooley. They used the boat then, there are still great links between Cooley and Greencastle. Time to restore a link that recognises no border other than that between Down and Louth. See you next Sunday.

Good man Quinny.Do you think they will show the Down minor hurling finals of the 70s in AI Gold ?

Greenan is an arrogant self-publicist of limited ability. There are plenty of people who have put in the same amount of work and didn't get the perks he got and is getting. He's an embarassment .One association, one country, one vote. Had concerns about the thing myself but have moved on PS That ball was never over the line

Danny Kennedy is usually reasonable as Unionists go ( he was excellent in 94 welcoming Sam number 5) but I cannot see his problem here. It would be a tremendous boost to everyone in North Louth/South Down and take a lot of pressure off Newry traffic. Bring it on Bertie!
