General discussion / wi fi broadband
October 18, 2007, 10:28:42 AM
any suggestions lads on wi fi broadband in north west Dublin.

Have NTL - and it is good (though becomming increasingly liable to be off line which is a pain in the hole)
but need a wi fi based solution now so I am not confined to one or two places around the house to access the damned interweb.

Obv want to pay similar rate as I am paying now and dont want to change telephone provider.

Do I go for Irish Broadband and its €25 quid offering or Eircoms €25 solution.
OR are there others that are better for the same money.
Anyone have the above two options?
is speed Fast/slow,  comments etc?

thanks

Just observed that in the last two kilkenny games v Galway and Wex (the 20 mins or so that I saw)
Kilkenny seem to take 8 or 9 steps with the sliothar when certain players have it in their hands.

Biggest offenders, Tommy Walsh, Martin commerford and Saint Henry.

Anyone else see this or am I wrong in thinking that (like football) you can only take 4 steps without hopping or carrying the bally on your hurley ? ?

folks
I need to set up some minor challenge matches and want to know if any of you could tell me the status in your county regarding the minor championships.
Meath minor season is over, so there wont be any teams looking for chalenge matches.
Please tell me if your county - Louth, Kildare, Laois, Westmeath, Longford, Offaly, Wexford, Carlow and wicklow championships are still on
if any of you know of a minor side that would be looking for a challenge match, then please let me know.
I am looking for top level Div 1 minor sides plus also games for lesser level - Div 2 or 3 teams.

TIA

anyone reccommend where I should go to buy a cheap multi region DVD player.
Doesnt need to be home theatre etc
just be decent quality, has good picture and will not break inside 6 months.
Prefer a brand name, but am open to suggestion/reccomendations

Dublin area preferably. Maybe an Online shop - again if you can reccomend it personally.

could anyone help me out
is there an online copy of the football rules?

I need to see where a certain part of play is outlined to be illegal.

it is the jumping for a ball and elevating yourself off a jumping opponents back a la aussie rules style

GAA Discussion / Dublin League final

won by Thomas Davis last night as they beat Rownd Towers Clondalkin 0-9  to 0-6.

Two teams very quick and attempting to play a mixture of basketball and Tyrone style all men behind the ball (without the diving).
Ball handling poor on a cold but good night for football.
Two seemingly young sides that lacked composure and played at breakneck speed - without actually moving the ball very fas as they were soo keen to handpass the ball and not lose posession, the attacks were darn slow to get up the pitch , then ultimately be met with a 13 man defence behind each 65 yard line.

Paul Curran and Darren Homan were managers of the defeated Towers side whose wayward shooting let them down as the posession they had should have won them the game - based in second half perf.
