GAA Discussion / Re: Allianz League Division 3 2020

Surely if Cork keep on winning it will affect the lower positions. Down have played Cork but i think Derry and Longford have still to play them.

Greencastle Co Down won 3 leagues in a row in the late 70's. South Down Intermediate 1977, All county Div 3 1978 and All county Div 2 1979 plus a Junior championship 1977.

I would never support the NI football team for the simple reason that I don't even believe the statelet has the right to exist in the first place. I am sure every nationalist agrees with me and tbh I find it really difficult to understand how any catholic could support them let alone go to their games.

NI is a deeply sectarian place [hold the front page] as a result of the words and actions of the very people who are the OWC's biggest supporters. The same people looking us to go to Windsor and support NI are the exact same people who are swaggering down the streets all summer every summer, putting up offensive flags and beating a big drum and hoping that the fenians are cowering in their hovels, too afraid to come out.

The NI team is a lightning rod for these type of people and should be anathema for any self respecting Irish person IMO. Just because the bigots mostly manage to suppress their hatred for all things Irish/Catholic for a couple of hours while at the match does not change the fact that its a loyalist team for a loyalist people.

For those who say this is a 2 way street and that nationalists are also sectarian, that is just another excuse to pander to loyalist sectarianism.

It is Unionists who have fostered and fomented sectarianism in NI to keep their perceived supremacy over the fenians for centuries. This video is just a small example of that hatred being expressed for all the world to see.

The IFA 'Football For All' is a just a different version of Terence O'Neills 'treat them all right and they will become just like good protestants' as far as I am concerned.
Nail on the head.

Qpr win at Florist for the first time ever. Great away win after beating Boro last week. One of the surprise teams this season.

I drank my share when i was younger but just at weekends, but found hangovers and depression went hand in hand as i got older. I made a life changing decision nearly 5 years ago and gave up totally. It was hard at first getting the message through to people that i actually dident want any drink, especially those closest to me. Thankfully its accepted now and i am thoroughly enjoying life alcohol free.
Little things like being able to hire a car on holiday with no pressure, to waking up on Monday morning sensible and fit for work. My hangovers used to make little unimportant things seem like the end of the world but thankfully thats all gone and every day is the same now. I just want to let people know that giving up, even though it was difficult, was well worth the effort.

Well done Lurganblue. Good thread and i suspect there is a lot of championship supporters out there. WBA, Boro, Leeds and Brentford wont be far away and at the bottom QPR will improve after 3 good loan signings.

The line ball before the goal should have been a Monaghan ball.

Would the fact that Jerome is being marked by better defenders than he faces in Down not be the reason he has not been great this year?It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that players run about more.He has got plenty of ball but he just can't shake off his marker.Someone has asked why we need to freshen things up?Did you not see the Tyrone game?Tirally outplayed all over the field. Our biggest ball carrier Poland not used until the last 10 minutes even though it was clear the long ball game was not going to work? Our midfield were getting destroyed.McKibben needs to start
Good to see there's more than me talking a "pile of shite". ;)

If you dont know what freshen things up means forget about it. Surrender territory! Have you been watching football lately. Mooney could be given a free role further up the pitch and Either of McKibben  or McArdle could play half back. Plenty of space in Croke Park to work kick outs. Whats the point of having fellas on the panel without giving them a chance. My whole reason for suggesting a few changes was because of playing Monaghan again.
