Another curates egg game from Tyrone. There was little between the teams in first half other than Armagh's shooting was off and Tyrone's eye was in (and with some great points taken as well).

Obviously sticking very rigidly to a game plan it was a case of methodically grinding out the scores, added to some good defensive work. Nothing spectacular. Keep efficient in the heat and do your job.

Sending off didn't really help that much. Imho, RoN, who is as talented a player as there is in Ireland, has had that red card coming a long time. He's at those snide fouls any game I've seen him play recently and been lucky enough to get away with them. Today he got caught and the ref had enough balls to send him off. Sin é. Hopefully someone will have a word as he has All Star ability.

Would have preferred the shot off the post to have gone in instead just beforehand, as from that point on Tyrone went into game management mode rather than press on and put Armagh to the sword and boy did it nearly cost dear at the end. They seem incapable of utilising an extra man to any advantage.

Terrible decision making throughout, especially in second half where there were men making great runs through on goal but the ball carriers failed to pass and took much more difficult (and selfish) shots themselves.

And by the by, anyone from Armagh talking about Peter Harte taking extra steps should watch RoN take a free - steals at keast 5-10 every time. Took a 20m free and only kicked it at the edge of the big square at one point.

I mentioned Harte's steps. It wasnt aimed at him in particular, he was just the example I used form the video posted. The ONeill free you talk about I think was a 13m free he just started a few metres back. He does steal yards all the time though. Same as every other free taker there is

Yeh, that's fair enough, steps in play is an issue all over county football - especially when club footballers get pulled on it much more often.

Still think O'Neill takes more steps at a free than any other player I've seen though. Although there was one in first half where he shot far post wide after a 10m saunter so maybe it's not always an advantage alright lol.

The EPL spray wouldnt be a bad idea alright.

BBC quote Mc Geeney as saying:

"I didn't see it but Rian feels he was pulled down by the jersey on top. Iwill see it first, but if what he says is true we will definitely support him,". Getting a leg pulled does not justify putting knees on head. It will tell a lot if McGeeney sees the footage and still defends him (or not).

Derry are just teetering along the same as last year. They'll get walloped in croke park in quarter / semi.

Haven't evolved when it comes down to the business end. Tyrone would give a better account against the top 3 or 4 teams even if they'd be beat too.
Is this the Tyrone Derry have been beat by about 10 points in last 2 meetings v Derry. I'll accept Derry won't win the AI and will get beat by someone at Croke Park but this narrative that Tyrone are better is nonsense. No team would have beat Monaghan handy last night the way they played, they are a good side and D1 for a reason. Lets not forget they beat Tyrone a few weeks ago as well

Mostly people outside Tyrone talking us up. We have done little yet to convince we are AI contenders this year.

Monaghan deserved the win, based on second half. Fair play.

No answer tactically from management to the Monaghan press.

Near post goal, am sure Morgan will be disappointed, although the defence also seemed to have gone AWOL.

It was a decent game in Omagh today, plenty of mistakes by both sides but at least there was little of the backways sideways crap that we had become accustomed to as Armagh fans throughout this years League. Mayo done Monaghan a huge favour by rolling over and getting their tummies tickled and there was little chance that Tyrone would do the same for us. Tyrone played the game like it was an All Ireland final even though they had nothing at stake but Armagh only have ourselves to blame after playing negative turgid stuff for much of the League. It was always going to be difficult today without our best player and then losing Murnin also in in the first half.

No.. no they didn't. They played well in places and poorly in others, but certainly not at championship, let alone all Ireland pace or standard.

Both teams left a lot of scores behind and I'm sure Armagh will feel they could have got a result on a different day where a few wides went over instead.

Kerry far from shrinking violets today. Well. Versed in the tactical foul or body check off the ball.

Curious why
1. Point that hit top of post and bounced in wasn't allowed
2. How Sean O'Se avoided a black card for a textbook pull down

Much more positive in terms of effort and result.

Not seeing much difference between MH style and todays approach though....bar the odd big man at edge of square appearance

The biggest problem with L&D is that there is no discernable style of football evident.

The AI was won off the back of Harte's defensive approach, with a little bit more freedom given to forwards and a quicker transition.

Last year and this year..... no idea what the style the team is trying to implement - it's neither this fabled 'front foot' attacking play, nor park the bus, nor any coherent mix of the 2.

If it's a case of building a team that can adapt and switch styles to suit games, or even within games, that's fine...but you have to be proficient at one thing as a default baseline and then develop the other options over a year or 2.....

Tyrone seem to be 5/10 at everything currently

Hard to beleieve there is no out and out scoring forward (other than McCurry) in Tyrone could do a job for the county

McShane has offered nothing in or around MF since he came into senior county football.

Either let him play FF or sit him on the bench

Mayo's turnaround has come from Peter Harte not opting to take a simple point.

A poor poor decision alright

Only the 9 or 10 steps there for the goal
