What harm was it doing.

None at all.
Some people have little to concern themselves with and go out of their way to be offended.

It just goes to show the insecurity within some sections of the protestant faith when they see the likes of this simple gesture as being a threat to their beliefs.

Equally what good was it doing and why would a council spend money on it?

Probably therapeutic to those who used it. Particularly I'd imagine, for children. And I'd imagine the cost would have been fairly negligiable, in the grand scheme of things.

Can't be having people dealing with their grief in a healthy, cost effective way. They must be miserable forever.

Any wonder why alcoholism is such a problem here.

If not interested in it, walk on by.

Some people are easily offended.

The article clearly outlined what good it was doing and why money was spent on it.

A fairly negligible amount I'd guess.

When I think about people I have come across in the private sector earning in the £90k territory in terms of competencies, skill set / attributes and compare them to the MPs across all parties in NI it is night and day.  Our MPs are similar to our MLAs in that their career options / earning potential would be very low in the real world.

For good reason in most cases.

The only interview they have is in front of the electorate.

In reality 7 people going for 5 jobs...so the chances of success are good.

Do SF still take the standard wage or did tht go?

If I was an MLA, I'd concentrate on one issue and hammer it.

Say car insurance for example. I'd be right on top of that.

What influence has a MLA on changing car insurance?
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

They'd have a protest, stand outside insurance offices with a few placards (Enough is enough!), give a wee interview to UTV etc etc.
Of course absolutely nothing will happen because why would the insurance companies care, but the MLA looks good for the voters and sure look it, that's all that matters.

Could stormont not pass a lawing limiting premiums or would that need to be London? It is properly scandalous. Reducing car insurance and having roads fit for purpose are 2 issues that would please a lot of people if they were sorted

Pretty sure all these Insurance companies end up back with about 4/5 multi national huge companies.
I would doubt even London would have the clout to do anything about it, even if the will was there to do something, which there isn't.
