Quote from: Captain Obvious on Today at 04:23:15 PMDonegal's Ulster final to lose.

Would you ever f**k off with that crap. It wasn't entertaining the first time you did it and it hasn't aged well with the 100th.

Donegal's Ulster final to lose.

Donegal found their shooting boots at half time?

Arsenal making easy work of their so called hardest match on their run-in.  Ange Postecoglou side aren't hard to score against and he shouldn't be in the conversation for any team that has plans to challenge for major honours.

Quote from: Gael85 on Today at 01:30:52 PMAnyway getting back to Leinster championship Kildare are great value to beat Louth. 7/4 is excellent odds to win as their athleticism is suited to the big pitch in Croke Park. Louth are guaranteed a place in AI so Kildare need the win more.

Westmeath will be Kildare supporters for the day.

Westmeath need Louth to win?

You are right, Louth supporters for the day.

Two very bad goals given away made things more difficult for Armagh however a get out of jail card used and after that performance should be zero expectation to win the Ulster final.

Down a lot harder to break down than Fermanagh was. Poor match 2nd half can only improve.

Quote from: Look-Up! on April 27, 2024, 03:25:40 PMI already stated I'd prefer to see Arsenal pip them to the title to keep things fresh. Have never said you can win the PL without money, just that their success doesn't put my knickers in a twist. If anything I've found their emergence a breath of fresh air up to this.

Quote from: imtommygunn on April 27, 2024, 08:23:21 AMDare I say it but it's a bit like Dublin. Financial advantage, an obviously brilliant manager and a well run setup in terms of actually using money well as opposed to just throwing money needlessly at stuff.

Money on its own won't buy you success. It's definitely a big help mind you.
Maybe not as big an outlier as the Dubs as I think there's plenty financial clout and resources in other clubs in the PL to match City. There's a reason Leister were 5000/1 to win the PL, it's essentially a closed shop to only the few unless an unusual set of stars align.

Problem with City is that their recent history meant they were unfashionable and easy to label "new money trash". It's pure snobbery and I like how much their success winds people up. Sure it's starting to become a bit boring and it would be nice to see someone like Arsenal pip them this year b ::) ut fair play to them and their manager for what they've achieved. They'll come back into the pack soon enough when he leaves. They haven't racked up a billion in debt, don't owe hundreds of millions in unpaid transfer fees to other clubs and are investing in the local community. If some sugar daddy is willing to waste his own money doing that, so what.
You forgot they've done all this by breaking financial rules and have 115 charges against them.. but yeah fair play to them.
Haven't forgot, just couldn't care less. City are entitled to appeal and if they get away scot-free all's fair in love and war. Football is incredibly corrupt, always was so I'll take my moral cues from elsewhere, certainly not from a football governing body.

PL was quite happy to follow the money and sell out, same as the big clubs in PL. Very happy to get in bed with the devil and devalue their history, FA Cup cough cough, but start crying not fair when they get blind sided by a minnow who wooed big money and then manage that money a hell of a lot better than they ever could.

But there's no point getting too worked up about it either way. I follow football for what happens on the field, not off it, and appreciate City for what they've done. A truly class team.

A Manchester City supporter and if so when did you start following them, before or after the sugar daddy selected them?

What happens off the field is what makes any team successful on it.  Manchester City without striking it rich would probably be a club struggling to retain Premier League status than winning league titles.

Quote from: Applesisapples on April 25, 2024, 09:12:54 AMI didn't see the Derry/Donegal match, but I am seriously impressed by any team allegedly out played who's best players were stymied but still managed 17 points. Goals win games but can be prevented. it was 15 scores to 17.

I can never understand this post match analysis which counts the number of scores rather than total up the number of points. There is a reason why a goal is worth 3 points and that is because they are supposed to be much more difficult to score.

Mickey Harte has yet to prove that he can adapt tactically to prevent goal chances against his side while still carrying a goal threat at the other end of the pitch. He did neither last weekend.

The latter was in no small part to the way Donegal set up. Derry was scoring goals for fun coming into last weekends game.

Quote from: J70 on April 25, 2024, 01:30:39 PMYeah, expectations will be tempered for next season all right. Top 4 would be an excellent achievement for Slot or whoever the new man ends up being.

And Klopp, there will be a fist-bump statue at some point!  ;D

And a statue that is sure to have a trademark Klopp smile/smirk

A bad night for jcpen who loves Liverpool and hates Everton so to see Liverpool lose and Everton win in the same night..

It was a league title to lose for Liverpool and now they need a few snookers to win it.
