Totally over priced, as is Harry Maguire, but that's the Premier League.. A similiar quality player in Germany or Italy wouldn't be as much..

United right to prioritise a full back who's supposed to be great defensively, even if he's supposed to be not so good going forward.

While the opposite type of full back works brilliantly at Liverpool, Liverpool have little creativity in midfield but fabulous work-rate, so Pool need creativity from the full backs whilst the midfielders give them a great help out defensively. Whereas United have creativity in midfield, but not so much in the workrate, helping out defence, side of things.

It's a ludicrous transfer fee.

Pep paid £50m for Walker. But he was an established international footballer, an annual contender for PFA team of the year at right back, renowned to be the quickest man in football, and was approaching his peak.

United. They're spending more money than that on a player who's had half a season of football. This has a much greater chance of going Callum Chambers than anything else, simply because he's so young.

Sadly it's just another example of how United's attempts to keep up with their neighbours, is seeing them ruin football; pushing up wages and transfer fees for bang average players.

I've no problem with any club spending big. But only if what they're buying is worth it.

It does seem that if there's a transfer between say two German Clubs or Spanish clubs (minus Barca and Real) that they've realistic ideas of what each are prepared to pay and that fee seems reasonable.
Along comes an EPL club and that price seems to double in an instant as they know the money is there and want a piece of it.

He's doing well for a lad that took up football only 6 months ago!

John Mc ginn linked for £50m, not sure if he is the calibre of player required.

Difficult to attract top European players without CL football.
GAABoard Fantasy Cheltenham Competition- Most winners 2009

Valued at 50m before playing in the Premier League. He is a good player, was impressive in play off final. The figures are ridiculous though..

Sean Longstaff of Newcastle linked too. Bit of an unknown.

What is the craic with United being linked with lots of British players?  Hope its a load of paper talk.  Shocked to hear of the reports of Dalot.

Going off twitter, supposedly whoever 'leaked' this said Dalot by mistake instead of Darmian.

Moyes contract runs out today.  ;D

Now would United be in a better or worse position had he been given more time. Answers on a postcard please...

Not sure how accurate this is but with Rashford's new deal United have 5 of the top ten best paid players in the PL. Surprised there are not more Chelsea players in there to be honest

Where is Aguero on that list? I find that hard to believe that he isn't near the top.

There are a few names that stood out as missing for me as well. Mane/Delle Alli etc. It is probably linked to when they signed their deal. Aguero is at an age where they dont have to offer him an enhancement mid deal to extend as he will be early thirties when the deal expires

I've always assumed that Aguero's loyalty to City is owed in no small part to an extraordinary off-the-books wage. A theory backed up by recent social media suspicions about why nobody ever wants to leave City.

Would be in a better position if he was never appointed in the first place and a more like for like replacement was brought in for Ferguson.
