Mayo / Re: david kilcullen-county board f*ck up
February 22, 2011, 10:26:05 AM
From what I heard, it has been resolved a clerical error thing. Would have had major consequences for the county board too. With as far as I know both principal officers would have had a year suspension too.

I feel that as a person who want's to lead the country Kenny should show up and debate the issues tonight. That along with the fact the expectation bar has been lowered to more or less ankle height about his ability in debates, as long as he showed up and stuck to the script it would be seen as at least a par.

On the suicide suggestion by Browne, which was tactless and distasteful at the time and one that sickened me after seeing the effect that such an action has on family at first hand, I personally wouldn't want to be anywhere near a person who has could make such a callous remark about any person, especially in such a public way.  But if I wanted to be the leader of the country, I would l suppose try leave it aside and  do the debate to show that you were the better person and above it all.

GAA Discussion / Re: season tickets

You can get the ordinary Mayo season ticket for €75 or special one for €200 which gives you the same deal as the ordinary one, but also entry to every club game in Mayo for the year.
The u16 tickets look good value at €10 for the year if bought with an adult ticket, but should they not have stretched it out to include all school kids say up to u18 at least

Mayo / Re: Parke KC Connacht Junior Club Champions
November 08, 2010, 11:18:23 AM
Great performance by Parke especially in the first half when their forwards ripped into Eslin. Two very well worked and taken goals, Seanie McHale was outstanding in the game as was Neary who bossed the midfield. They could go one step further than Kilitmagh last year.

Mayo / Re: Parke V Islandeady- County Junior Final
October 07, 2010, 05:22:57 PM
Hopefully it'll be better than last years championship game between the two. The crowd actually jeering when Islandeady finally landed the only point of the first half a couple of minutes into injury time, was a particular highlight.

The new one is a streaming device, where you can rent movies etc from itunes. You can also stream media from your laptop/desktop through your home wifi network  AFAIK from reading up on it. I was thinking about getting one for using in the bedroom, but want to see it in action first. The Mac Mini under the tv, is the job for a media centre/computer in the living room. I use it with Plex for watching tv shows etc, that I have acquired online. The mac mini is costly though mind you if your just going to use it as a media centre.

Mayo / Re: Mayo Club Football.

QuoteCharlie managed them. I wouldn't call him the driving force though.

A lucky manager rather than a great one, would you say R & G,

Castlebar was lucky at the time to have two schools achieving a lot in around the same time in the mid to back end of the 90s. But I think I'd be right that when Geralds were making the way to Hogan cup final in 97, the Davitt College team would have been in the vocational schools u16 finals, so when both sides were at the top they wouldn't have really got to grips with each other.  We're the vocational schools even in the Flanagan Cup at that stage?

QuoteIt's good to talk

It is known at this stage that I had a chat with members of the County Board executive last Sunday evening at McHale Park regarding the Mayo manager's post. A couple of lads chatting at An Sportlann, had a few shouts of encouragement for me as I made my way in. Now that I am writing this, I am beginning to wonder was it shouts of encouragement, or were they shouting at me to go home! I have received a few calls this week enquiring if I was worth a few quid at the bookies. My advice to those who asked was to keep their money in their pockets!
