QuoteDinny, What are the thoughts on McGeeney now amongst the Kildare supporters?

I suppose like any County outsiders are viewed with suspicion but it's a county that craves success. McGeeney will get a realtively easy ride this season but if Kildare continue to ship heavy defeats then the supporters will get on his back, there was unbelieveably some grumplings from the terraces last Sunday. The heavy defeats coupled with the new style is leaving supporters uneasy but the Kildare supporters will accept relegation if we get a run in the championship. Everyone I suppose is looking forward and expect next season to be a watershed in Kildare football.

As Lynchbhoy states the Kildare manager is a poison chalice as the expectations are not relative to the talent, doesn't help having The Dubs, The Royals and The Buffalos as neighbours either but I think Kildare supporters realise McGeeney has a three year plan and I think he will have the support to see it through.

Quotei see king has been told to put his feet up for the rest of the season.  just shows how were treating the run in!

That's to ensure he passes his fitness test when he signs for Arsenal...

QuoteBandwagan excuses if you ask me. So who do you support in gaa so i know for the summer Limerick or Tipperary?

In fainess Tankie, I doubt very much you grew up supporting Leinster rugby. AZ was living in Munster when the game went professional, he never harbours on about beating the All-Blacks but can identify with Munster as he was living there when started their quest for European glory. He however was born and bred in Offaly and I believe has represented his county.  He's as far removed from the Munster sterotype as you can get but a Munster supporter he is...

Anyway I believe Thomand will see Munster attendances increase dramatically next season, as the RDS has done for Leinster as Croke Park has done for the GAA, build it and they will come..

QuoteDinny, does your old mate have you doing the conditioning for the u21's ?

Ha! They're a big physical side in fairness and the young midfielder Waters is actually a handy 6ft 4 scrum-half too, loves the contact but as his red card against Dublin shows he can go over board.

Glenn is as passionate about Gaelic football as they come, very innovative and he'll do well in management, not afraid to bring in outside help if he needs. Actually the former All-Ireland ref Mick Monaghan is one of his selectors and Kildare are very disciplined but very physical, it was men against boys in the Carlow game. They played poorly against Dublin but just out muscled them, and for a KIldare side they actually have forwards who can score. McGeeney has a big influnence on the U21s as well.

Not expecting much from the Kerry trip, Kerry are targetting the League final and will see this game as an opportunity to put one foot in the final, Kildare have a lot of injuries and with no u21s to call upon will be very weak. Anyone doing the spreads comp really should have Kerry as their bonus... :-[

Quotectually even the goal came from Babel passing the ball to Flamini who was robbed by a block tackle from Gerrard.

That wasn't Babel passing the ball, that was his first touch  ;D

Maybe speculative long balls or crosses don't count as a pass, the parameters would be interesting as the UEFA stats on screen had shown Babel have a 33% success rate with 4 passes...

QuoteWhere'd you get stats BTW Dinny? I'm looking for a good source of such things.

Eurosport would you believe

Javier Mascherano v Arsenal
Goals                  0
Shots                 0
Shots on Target   0
Fouls                  0
Fouls Won           1
Offside               0
Assists               0
Accurate Passes   28
Bad Passes         7
Tackles              8

So apart from some blind runs up the alley where he gave the ball away, above is his sum contribution to the game. Not particluar impressiive stats are they, I'd find it hard to believe how anyone can rate this guy.....

But hey you're not called the delusionists for no reason  :P

She's a nice rack indeed...

That one Jenny should have been fired, completely useless. Impressed with the lads tonight, good effort...

Quotewho cares?  Huh

Ah Gabe I'm hurt I know you care, really you do....

Stonewall penalty but not surprised that at least one delusionist is in denial...

Anyway Liverpool defended excellently but Arsenal probably should have scored 3 goals, Torres was very disappointing but his pace was always going to be ineffective against Arsenal, Babel only completed 1 in every 3 passes, as for Mascherano they should call that lad the Barber, short back and sides and that's when he wasn't giving the ball away....

Think this tie will go to penalties, advantage Liverpool though.......

QuotePleased enough. Arsenal need something to fight for in games and this offers it to them. I think you're being a bit harsh on Hleb. He hadn't much luck tonight but he's the only one playing the way the team did 5 months ago.

I can see a 3-1 win at Anfield.

Agree with that, much the better side but i think this quarter-final will head to penalties......
