Laois / Re: Official Laois County Board Website

Just by chance I've managed to find this years clubs fixtures/results on the website. You have to scroll a mile down the fixtures page through 2019 and 2020 to get to 2021  >:(

Leagues up and running now and spectators are allowed but no sign of anything on the official website. Bit of a farce if you ask me. Are we all supposed to work out the league tables ourselves?

Looks like LaoisToday is the now the best source for fixtures in the county. They have all the date and fixtures for the league. Good luck try finding that on laoisgaa.ie

Laoisgaa.ie used to be excellent for fixures and results. You could filter fixtures by club and find things easily. The current website is a mess.

Two soft goals. Second one resulted from very poor passing from Dillon to Timmons coming out of defence. Lillis looked to be gasping after 10 minutes. I don't think it's fair to expect the older lads to win games for Laois. Many are well into their 30s and have given their all for the Laois jersey over a long period of time but intercounty football is now a young mans game. Quirke needs to be blooding younger players and getting them experience which will be better for Laois in the long run. Division 3 football and a lot of retirements down the spine of the team is inevitable next year unfortunately.

Sorry, don't follow the hurling too much. Can someone explain what Premier Intermediate is?

Never though of that  :-[ Looks like we won't be back to Tier 2 for a long time which is a shame for the clubs left in the semis.

So Cavan and Tipperary get an exemption  ::) Mayo too if they get relegated presumably  ::)

Why do the GAA always have to over complicate things. I thought they only did that kind of thing in the Hurling i.e. change the format every year to prevent some of the big counties getting knocked out early or relegated to lower division. It makes a mockery of the second tier.

Why can't they be more like the ladies and call the second tier championship what is too, Tailteann cup is the Junior championship and Sam Maguire is the Senior. It should not be linked to the league or provinces after the first season, and it should have promotion and relegation.

The inter county hurling grades are even worse with about five different grades with obscure names instead of Senior, Intermediate, Junior A, B & C.

We are almost as bad in Laois with our Senior A hurling which as far as I can tell should be called intermediate!

Are many other counties in the same situation as Laois? Could the GAA not have allowed for a few weeks early next year to get the club championship finished. If they are worried about Covid and the after parties then don't let them take home the cup and get the Gardai to do their jobs in the town/village that wins it. It's hardly that difficult.

Dublin would probably need to be split into four instead of two and they still would have the biggest pick in the country. They could split it into the four councils.

There should be a home and away arrangement up to the Leinster Final. It's unbelievable that Dublin have never had to play Laois in Laois for a championship game. I think we should leave Leinster and join Munster in protest! There are too many teams in Leinster anyway. A few others could also move to Munster and another few to Connacht.

GAAGO actually worked fine for me. First time in three Laois games this year that it wasn't jittery. Still waiting on my refund for the Fermanagh game though!

Staying up in division 2 and winning a Leinster quarter final would have met most peoples expectations for the year. We made it hard for ourselves but never gave up and pulled it out of the bag which is a always a good sign to see. Laois teams a few years ago would not have done that.

We drew with Roscommon and beat Armagh and both were promoted and should have lost to both teams that were relegated. It was a strange league for us overall. Next year, we will need to target the Clare, Down and Westmeath games. Mayo and Cork will be too strong. It could go either way against Meath and Kildare.

I turned off the jittery stream near the end when Laois were down 6 and Lillis got sent off. Turned it back on 10 mins later to see Laois score the  second goal, couldn't believe that finish to the game!!! At the start of the league we somehow got a point out of Roscommon with two late goals and now we went one better and took a win with three late goals  :D

GAAGo jittery again this weekend for the game against Fermanagh. It would give you a headache. Is it the same for everyone else?

Anyone watching this on GAAGO? Video keeps jumping and is so jittery. I've tried the app, Chromecast and laptop and all are unwatchable. Even if the video was good the camera angle is terrible and too low down. I've had to switch it off and ask for refund
