...Dessie Ryan?
Pretty sure he was part of the original management team of Art O'Hagan and Eugene O'Hagan in the 90s.

HBCF, you are never going to win this argument, If i were an Errigal comittee member, player, fan, i would  be in favour of showing him the door. Get the team together and get down to the hard work. i'll tell you what, there would be no problems with motivating that team to go out and play Balinderry
OBut Ronan is honorable to his and our club - not too many of them guys out there ;). Also Errigal dont need motivation to play ballinderry, we have had history before - which usually included Ronan - therefore no change. Errigal and Ronan had an agreement full stop - even EC unique acknowledged this.

OB, I am not out to win an argument. Ronan made a difficult decision and I and alot of other people respect him for it. As I said before if he had of stayed on with Errigal the people of Ballinderry would not have had a problem with it. But Ronan is honorable to his and our club - not too many of them guys out there ;). Ronan won the Tyrone county championship with the same team that even Peter the great couldn't so what does the Errigal Committee do? Even a few weeks ago the committee, players and fans were saying that only for Ronan they wont have won it. Ronan knows he is taking a risk in doing what he has done but will Errigal take a risk of showing him the door? Ronan is one of the up and coming managers - do you get rid of him because of it when most likely one of the other teams in Tyrone such as Carrickmore/Omagh will try to get his services instead. These clubs will agree the same with Ronan to get a Tyrone county championship again. Catch 22!!

So passionate that he is away taking another club outside of his own parish (for whatever reason or reasons) when I am sure there are plenty of teams inside his club that could be doing with his level of expert coaching!

He does. He is involved in underage coaching. At present we have an excellent manager in Martin McKinless and we only need one. Martin is over the senior panel and so Ronan had to look elsewhere. I would assume in the future Ronan will a future manager for us. So to answer your question yes Ronan does coaching in our club.

From speaking to Ronan, prior to him getting the job at the start of the season he informed Errigal that he would only take it on the condition that if they met Ballinderry he would opt out of that game. I understand from him the Errigal committee agreed to that then and now he has taken up this option. Errigal must not have thought Ronan would have taken them this far if they agreed to this!

Ronan is a die hard Ballinderry man and I understand he would have great difficulty to step into an opposition bench against Kevin, Mickey C, Deets, Enda etc all friends he grew up playing football with. It was different with Paul McIver as he did not play with alot of these players and not the same connection as Ronan.
I have heard today that this is the case and it was agreed. I would imagne our chairman thought f**k it we will cross that bridge if and when the time comes. Not easy for either side this one. One side of me has respect for him to be so attached to his club but the other side says he should be professional and get on with the job.

It is a very difficult situation for both sides and I don't think any of the Ballinderry players and management would have any issues with Ronan doing his job. I know Joe Canavan helped the last time but he wasn't the manager. I think you need to know Ronan and his family to understand the passion they have for Ballinderry.

Cross players must be watching too much cross channel soccer - nice little bit of play acting to get the Ballinderry boy sent off. Shame that this diving is now part of our great game.

Can't believe how poor Ballinderry were in the first half - clueless!!
His first yellow should have been straight red, the second was also a strike and the rule says striking or attempting to strike.
Don't talk shite.  His first was a yellow, if even a yellow, nothing more.

Firstly, congrats to cross. No excuses - better team over the whole 60 mins won. We were probably the better team in the 2nd half but the damage was done in the first half. Some great hard football played by both sides and it was a gutsy performance by us in the 2nd half. Fair play to cross when we scored the penalty they didn't panic and went up the field and scored a few points to edge away. Didn't see Harney's 2nd yellow card but speaking to a few players after the match, they thought it was harsh due to why he hit. But as a famous derry maanger once said - "if you strake a man in this game, then your aff!" Harney has had a great year and i hope he gives it another go next year. As for Kernan's sending off, it was a yellow card challange and his second. Also must mention the 4 great saves by both Micky C and Hearty. Hopefully all our players will sit down, look at this performance, and go again next year. There is still more in this team.

Anyway, best of luck to Cross, Burren and Latton for the rest of Ulster. However wins I will be supporting in the All-Ireland.

Also good luck to craigbane in the Ulster Final.

Shamrock forever - I would suggest you delete the last post and let TFAL be the fool that he is. Don't fall into his pathetic trap and give him the satisfaction that he is winding us up. As we have done all year and just let the players do the talking on the field. It seems to shut up this p***k and bolster his title as the biggest fool on the board.

Screenexile, on what evidence do you base that prediction? I, to, was at the the Cross/St Galls games and like a previous post of yours on that game, I was in awe of the football Crossmaglen played until they had the game sown up and saw it out. How you could imagine that ballinderry have the slightest chance, I do not know. Having watched them in most of their championship games this year i think that they could get one hell of a stuffing as St galls are a far better team than ballinderry.

Their corner back Morgan will put gilligan in his pocket just like what he did with Niblock although toitally illegally and how the umpires let him off with it was an absolute disgrace. They have no one to mark Clarke and their better players are to old to match the all ireland champions.

In my opinion, Cross will win by at least 6 points proving if proof is needed that derry football is in worst state in a long number of years.
Having said and not being a lover of ballinderry, that I hope the referee and officials will keep a close eye on Crossmaglen as on that day, I rarely saw more cynical off the ball play.

What angelic club are you from.? ;)

Jealously GFC or in other words Bellaghy :D :D

My sincere sympathy to John and the Harte family.

May God help to lighten the load of grief and sadness for John, Mickey, Marian and the Harte family and all who mourn Michaela's death and give you all consolation during these extremely sad days.

Armagh / Re: Armagh Club football & hurling
November 09, 2010, 10:26:04 AM
In relation to the comments made by Phil Stuart and some other ballinderry members on this board, I would like to state that this is NOT the opinion of most people in Ballinderry. In 2006 & 2008 the 2 best teams in Ulsterat the time contested the Ulster Final and on each occassion the best team won. Everyone knows that cross have a physical aspect to their game but they also have some great footballers and a great team spirit. Ballinderry has always strifed to meet the winning standards that cross has set. We would always be the first to congratulate them for their success. Over the past few years Ballinderry and Crossmaglen have had a good relationship especialy when cross came down to Ballinderry last year to play in the Conor McCusker tournament and the cross players will tell you about how good a night it was. Letters in papers by men who have left the parish 50 years ago and comments made here recently do not reflect the real feelings of the Ballinderry Shamrocks Club. I hope the Crossmaglen people will not sour the good relationship between the club because of the pettiness of a few people.

PS - I would like to wish Cross and all the other teams the best this weekend and may the best teams win. We will be watching with a little bit of jealously!

What's McCuskers problem? Great player.

He almost single handedly turned the NFL Final against Kerry that day.
