Some of Ireland’s best known sporting figures will descend on Dromintee parish on Saturday, March 23rd for the club’s Question of Sport and Q&A session.
The event, which will be held in the Jade - the transformed building in Jonesboro market - promises to be a spectacular night with guests such as rugby star Tommy Bowe, Kilkenny legend DJ Carey, two-time Olympic medalist Paddy Barnes, the only Irish man to claim two medals at the Games, and former Commonwealth boxing champion Martin Rogan part of the teams.
Also on the bill will be Armagh ladies All-Ireland winning captain Mags McAlinden, well-known political figure and sports enthusiast Barry McElduff and one of Ireland’s most recognisable sports presenters, Adrian Logan. Three-time world handball champion Fiona Shannon will also be involved and a number of Kilkenny hurling greats are also going to be present.
A number of famous Kilkenny players will also be taking part in a question and answer session on the night, giving an insight into the psyche of one of sport’s most successful teams in our ask the All-Stars section. The other stars on the night will also be available to answer questions.
The event will be hosted by Cool FM presenter Connor Phillips and full bar facilities will be available on the night, bottles and draught. There will also be a disco afterwards until late.
“I know Dromintee have put a lot of hard work into this, and I know it’s going to be great craic on the night,” said Rogan. “Get out there and support them, it’s going to be a great occasion.
“There’s a great line-up there with a number of different sports covered. I’ve been speaking to Connor and I know there’s going to be a few surprises on the night, so it will be well worth attending.”
Dromintee chairman Declan Fearon, meanwhile, has thanked all those who have helped with the event.
“We are very humbled to have such big names coming to our event, Irish internationals, top stars in the GAA and some very famous boxers. I’d like to personally thank all those stars and their representatives, as well as Ulster Rugby, for helping put this glittering cast together.”
Tickets for the event cost just £10 or 12 euro and the doors open at 6.45pm. The club’s Twitter (@DrominteeGAC) and Facebook page will be bringing further updates closer to the event. Line-up subject to change.

PS we put a lot of effort into our fundraisers, but are always open to ideas. Anyone who has done something along the same lines and would like to suggest something on the night that the crowd may enjoy, feel free.

Thanks
