General discussion / Re: Winter Tyres.
November 02, 2011, 02:25:19 PM
Tony, I am doing part worn for £25 - £30 each. They have at least 5mm on them, new have 8mm and legal limit is 1.6mm. This includes fitting. I am doing new retreads (remoulds) for £40 - £45 each.

Denn, Winter tyres are legal to use all year but this is not advised. The rubber is a softer compound and will wear quicker in summer weather. The general rule is that if day time temperature is below 7C then winters are required.
Most cars now are front wheel drive so if you get 2 rims and put winter tyres on them that will do the job on the front. Do not worry about the back unless a rear wheel drive car (BMW Merc)

After winter put the original rims back on and keep the winters for next year.

Norf have you seen the video of the "alleged" racist remark from Terry?

Yes.

So has a Chelsea fan whats your take on the whole thing?

To be honest I haven't got a clue, and my naivety (Or care) to defend a £100,000 a week footballer has reduced over the years. I'd be surprised if he shouted what the media are hinting he did when you consider that he was surrounded by 4 or 5 players at the time.

In addition if he did say that, how come no one on either side heard him?

However we'll know more post the FA hearing which is being fast tracked much more than the Suarez/ Evra one!

I think the reason it is being fast tracked is that there is clear evidence in Terry's case that most people have viewed (it is as clear as day what he said IMO). None in Suarez's.

Like Denn forever said, these tyres are commonly known as part worn. Sounds ok to me. Pm me with any requests or price inquires. We will have most sizes from 14inch to 20inch. Big saving over the price of new and all good European makes. No rubbish from china.

Hi. I have been looking on here for a while but never felt the need to post until now. I am starting a new business next week as a supplier of part worn tyres. I can supply runflats or regular tyres at a fraction of the price. Minimum thread depth of 4mm. Based in Ballygawley.

No need to replace runflats, just use regular tyre and carry repair kit that goes in through the valve.

Best of luck and keep posting.  Being from Tyrone, you are bound to have strong opinions.

Thanks.......I think.
