Isn't about supporting a political cause... is highlighting the massacre of men, women and children. Regarding Palestine is the same as Argentina football team stand they took as does Ronaldo using his football profile.

Grand so. I'm sure you won't mind me showing up in Clones with my Orange Order banners and flags, to highlight the massacre of insert Troubles incident of your choice here -------->

Can I hang some Union Jack bunting around the stand where Arlene will be sitting? Just so that she feels we are all in solidarity with the terrible mental trauma her kind must feel about not being let take their silly wee drums and their silly bowler hats down the Garvahy Rd on the Glorious 12th? Then after that, can I hang some Stars and Stripes flags from all the flag poles, to show solidary with The Donald for showing those dirty Mexicans whats what? Then I want to put up big billboards around the ground of waffles. Why waffles? Well, we need to highlight the terrible human rights abuses in the Belgian Congo in the 1950's. I won't rest until the world is rid of all waffles.

Do you see where this is going?

Sounds like you're going to a DUP conference. West Brit

Yes, it does, doesn't it? And won't it be great craic altogether when every single match is invaded by politically motivated people who feel they are perfectly entitled to use a sporting occassion to further whatever it is that they believe in, or feel strongly about? I'd imagine most people would change their tune right sharpish, if said protests, demonstrations, banners and flags were for causes that they DIDN'T believe in. You don't get to pick and choose on things like this. If you open up GAA grounds to this issue in particualr, then you open them up to everything. The good. The bad. The ugly. The truly deranged. That would not be a good thing imo.

Jesus, he can't win. Make the usual "we take the opposition seriously, no matter how easily we think we'll beat them" remarks and he gets slaughtered for taking the piss. Admit that he thinks the Dubs will cruise to a handy 10 pt plus win and he'll get slaughtered for being arrogant, or showing the oppositon no respect. Inter county managers just can't win. Is it any wonder so many of them choose to keep the media at arms length?

If you see the cruelty in the flesh it is very hard to do nothing. There are so many parallels with our own history . GAA people are decent so why not leverage that ?

When I go to watch a match, I go to support my county and watch a match. I'm not interested in having my attendance be leveraged or exploited to support political causes, thanks very much. My being a decent skin, or an utter tosspot doesn't really come into it.

I'll be over here in the corner, rapidly losing the will to live, if anyone is looking for me.

I think he's excellent.  Much better also on podcasts when he can talk more freely.  RTE gives you about 20 seconds max to answer a question.

Then why does he waste half that time by starting very single sentence with "Ah sure, d'ya know Des, lookit, I suppose sure I think I suppose...."

The man can not give a straight answer to a simple question to save his life. Comes across as a bit too vague for my liking, as if he's waiting for the producers to tell him what to say into his earpiece. He's not, but that's how he comes across.

What the hell is up with Cavanagh's wild eyes? He looks like he's trying to suck Des' soul out of his body with that stare.

Ok. I'm glad it's not just me. Either the studio lights are blinding him, or he's breaking in new contact lens & trying not to blink. Very distracting, which ever one it is.

God, Mayo really are the walking wounded these days, aren't they?

You're being hard on Doc. Whilst it is a red card I'd very much doubt he meant it. You can see he's trying to spin and attempting a hand off. He was immediately apologetic.

So that makes it ok then?  :o

Utter nonsense.

The 2 O'Connor brother throw those sneaky elbows far too often for this to be unintentional. He knew exactly what he was doing. He just didn't expect the ref to have a ring side seat to it. Which the brother is usually much cuter at doing.

Some piss poor shooting from Mayo so far.

I was watching the Dublin club championship on TG4 last night . a very attractive looking double header with ballyboden ballymun, st bridgets and kilmacud   all playing and only a handful of people there . much less than a similar attraction in Mayo or most other counties I'd bet
there was a high level of football though the results were uneven and big names on all teams.
surely more could be done to promote this

Dragging Crokes & Boden over to Parnell Park for the game, would have a knock on effect on attendance. As would the games not being knock out anymore.

Football was football then. All right-footers playing in the Galway attack. Rossie goal was a belter.

Dublin have the power, panel and experience for Sunday's final. They've won 5/6 league finals over the past few seasons, are a well-drilled machine and will be anxious to lay down a marker against the coming culchie upstarts from the west. CP is their second home and they'll be keen to return to winning ways after the Monaghan defeat. The odds of 2/9 v 4/1 look about right.

But because sometimes everything we know is wrong, I reckon Galway will bang in a few goals and win by 10+.

That bit made me laugh! If Croke Park is their second home, where in gods name is there first?

Probably Castlebar, given how long it's been since they lost there?  ;D

Social media is a cess-pit.
Time to pull the plug on the whole thing before it's too late.

What do you reckon this place is?

We'll have to shut it down too then and all the sites just like it.

You can't blame all the nasty stuff solely on the likes of Twitter, Facebook etc etc
