Christy Ring/Nicky Rackard/Lory Meagher Cups

The draws for the first round of the Christy Ring Cup. Nicky Rackard Cup and Lory Meagher Cup were made at a recent meeting of the Central Competitions Control Committee and are as follows:
Christy Ring Cup:
Down v Derry
Kerry v Mayo
Westmeath v Kildare
Wicklow v Carlow
Nicky Rackard Cup:
Roscommon v Fingal
Armagh v London
Sligo v Meath
Louth v Monaghan
Lory Meagher Cup:
Warwickshire v Longford
Fermanagh v Leitrim
Tyrone v Non Ards
Donegal v Cavan
The first team listed was drawn first and therefore has home venue (provided the venue meets the criteria set down by the National Safety and Infrastructure Committee).
Dates for these games will be confirmed as soon as they are available.
Like to think we can get over Sligo, but said that about Kerry last year.
Not a good draw for us in Warwickshire. Longford always seem to have the better of us.
Have they changed the format of these competitions for next year?
Up to now The Christy Ring has been 2 groups, with 4 teams in each & top 2 getting to semi.
Seems a bit odd if its now just a knockout, but there must be some reason for it!
Not liking an away game v Wicklow at all, even though we are the better team, we always seem to struggle there.

Heard Loughnane might be interested if we can offer him good fishing.
It looks like its a straight knockout competition for next year. The 3 competitions look well balanced.
Back door competition. Every team guaranteed three games. Good system....
