Quote from: theskull1 on April 16, 2024, 01:36:03 PMRory (as a player) and Tiger (as a non player) meant to be getting ownership of their own LIV team is what I heard.
And going the other way, the top performing LIV players will be allowed to play in some of the PGA signature events.

The PGA players who stayed loyal got royally shafted, any merger or compensation deal will have to involve big money going to these players.

Quote from: NAG1 on April 16, 2024, 11:58:01 AMSpeaking of Dele Ali, has there ever been a worse guest on Monday Night Football on Sky, Carragher trying his upmost to involve him asking him questions and setting him up with lines but still couldn't get anything out of him.

Personal highlight was when he was doing the analysis of the Arsenal game and he kept having to ask the score in the game  ;D

I would be hoping he wasn't relying on a media career.

I'd say its grand having a chat with your mates about football, completely different when there's a mic shoved in your face and knowing there would be millions watching lol!

In fairness I think for him he hasn't actually done any research on anything lol.. He'd no idea about certain games and seems as if he doesn't watch that many either.

Jamie is completely clued in and a veteran of doing this, the professionals make it look easy

I'd expect as bare minimum to know the score in the game  ;D

Quote from: screenexile on April 12, 2024, 11:38:07 AMScheffler was so impressive last night. He's so steady and very rarely makes a wrong decision it's hard to see him making too many mistakes.

Bryson was brilliant too apparently he has newly engineered clubs more forgiving for his game that only got approved at the start of the week. They seem to be working.

McIlroy will need a 5/6 under to get into contention and possibly need Scottie to have a mare on the greens!

One mistake on Augusta can lead to a big number and a big swing. He doesn't need to shoot the lights out today, just keep in touch as plenty up players up there.

Scheffler got the best out that round last night and despite Scheffler's form for 2 years, he's only picked up one major. I wouldn't be giving it to him just yet.

Scheffler be hard to beat with his levels of consistency, but if McIlroy can hang in he is more likely to have epic round, if he can remain close enough. Last few he has made a charge on the Sunday but has been too far back.

Shane going to need to pick something up in his second round.

Quote from: johnnycool on April 10, 2024, 10:11:43 AMOnly got round to watching the game yesterday.

Clare were much the better team over the 70 minutes especially the period after half time when they went 7 points up and looked to be well in control, but Kilkenny kept in the battle, some softish frees helped but also they're just never beat right till the end and TBH apart from the non penalty miss they'd a few chances for goals that were spurned.

Mossy Keoghan one on one with Rory Hayes in injury time, Hayes marshalled him well but I'd have expected a bit more vigor from Keoghan and he simply just tapped it over the bar.
No way Eddie Brennan or most of the KK forwards from that era would have done that with the game still to be won.

Clare looked good, but their dominance needs to be reflected on the scoreboard and they failed to keep the effort up over the whole second half, that is a potential worry for them.

Much being made of young Adam Hogan "buying" frees on social media, from what I see he does duck down in the tackle, but the bottom line is that there's nowhere in the rule book saying you can throw your spare arm out and around a player who's trying to get passed you.

Don't know why he is being singled out, every single player is at the same malarky. It is actually getting hard to watch, players running into a tackle and throwing the arms up to try and buy a free.

I guess there has to be more discipline by the tackler not to leave a loose arm in, but the refs need to start copping on to it as well.

Quote from: From the Bunker on April 09, 2024, 09:33:34 PMThe Double Treble is on and nobody in the media wants to mention it.
Media don't expect Liverpool to let the Premier league title to slip through their fingers hence why it hasn't been mentioned.

The Media know City are stink with Financial Doping. They don't sell advertising, Papers, etc. And there is not an ounce of romance in the achievements of the team.

I agree soulless club and no side left in the Champions league or FA Cup good enough to beat them. Both Liverpool and Arsenal are currently ahead of them in the Premier league so it's opportunity knocks.

The irony is that pre state involvement, they had plenty of soul, certainly a good part of their fanbase and the crowds that followed them in the 3rd tier 25 odd years ago

I think that is why opposition fans don't really care if or when they win things. They are plastic and their achievements will always be reflected as such. Total contrast to where and who they were before the investment.

Quote from: lurganblue on April 09, 2024, 02:27:48 PMMcIlroy just always seems to have 1 horrible round in him at this course over 4 days.

He needs to ensure that horrible round doesn't kill his weekend, he is usually excellent on the Sunday but firing from too far back. Limit the damage on the bad round and put himself in contention and he is as dangerous a competitor as there is in in the field.

Steady Eddie appointment, look at his performances with a really talented England squad.

Sancho would be the type of player he would avoid I would imagine even at club level. Shows no signs of being tactically adept or inspirational.

Can see some reasons why they would look at him but he wouldn't be for me that's for sure.

Clare outworked them for sure, but they also have better and a variety of different types of hurler from what I saw.

Hopefully this Clare team aren't left ruing the fact of running into one of the best teams ever to be produced at their peak.

Quote from: Bord na Mona man on April 07, 2024, 09:04:30 AMIt would have been some injustice if Clare had lost the game coming down the strait. Especially as the ref looked to be giving the Cats plenty of assistance near the end.
Cody hitting the penalty down into the mud patch was a schoolboy error. TJ Reid would have put it high towards the top corner.

In fairness he let Fitzgerald take close to 10 steps for his goal, you don't usually see a player being allowed to pause, cut inside (while still not taking a tap) and then continue

He's a serious man for taking 10 steps.

In fairness, easily the best player in the National League this year. Clare will be hoping he keeps this run of form up. With David Mc Enerney, Shanagher and O'Donnell off the bench last night Clare are working on developing their panel. Just need them injury free as Munster will be tough.

Lohan needed the win last night to justify his work. Well deserved. Were the better team throughout. Clare were hungry and aggressive and in Mc Carthy and Duggan, they have good outlets up top.

Malone works hard in mid-field, Cleary is an old style full-back with Hogan developing into a super man marker/cornerback.  With TK to come back, they'll by boosted for Munster.

KK were disappointing although they still have that never say die spirit. They seemed to be off the boil a bit e.g. Blanchfield missing the pick twice for Clare's goal.  Simple stuff.
Cody's penalty was poorly struck in the marsh. Who know what would have happened if it went in but they didn't deserve it.

TJ was a big miss as on out bll at full-forward although Mossy Keoghan showed really well when introduced - 3 points I think.

KK were/ are poor I dont see anything improving them drastically as the championship gets going. TJ will slightly but think he is on the other side of it.

They seem to be producing the same type of player at the moment with nothing really standing out.

These teams will be way ahead fitness wise than any of the regular Div1 Teams, they know the only chance they have is to pick up early points and then try to cling on.

Shocking how bad they can be in one instance and then how dangerous they can look in the next moment.

That inconsistency in one spell within a game never mind across a few games is unreal.

That being said I would not be a fan of appointing Southgate.

It was driven into us by our parents. It wasn't some pre planned notion of this will get a united ireland - it was a notion that education will give you better chances in life. These boys seem to think that it was a joined up effort by the entire population. Bonkers.

Well said.

But that is the absolute perception out there even amongst the non-hardliners, everything was one big conspiracy against them, it was all joined up thinking by those pesky Taigs.
