Pochettino is a funny one. The majority of his key players were already at Spurs before he arrived and his transfer record is not great; how would he cope with a big budget? I would nearly take Rodgers before him to be honest.
He's not exactly been allowed to bring in top players so I wouldn't judge him on those players bought. Spurs wages bill was miles off the rest of the top 6 too. He wanted Periera in 2017 but Levy wouldn't pay his transfer clause and Spurs ended up with Aurier whilst Pereira went on to be the best right back in the league last year with Leicester.
He's worked wonders with some of those players who's careers were going nowhere before he turned up.
Whoa there!! Must have missed that. In the premier league I watched, TAA was and is the best right back!

And some folks complained when I referred to DUPUDA

Defenders need to keep a clean sheet first and foremost. His and Duffy's combined c**k-up meant the game was basically over given your limitations going forward.Quote from: Maroon Manc on November 19, 2019, 10:09:53 AM
I thought the performance has been over blown, Denmark were pathetic and still managed to get a draw whilst Ireland struggled to create goods chances which is hardly a surprise when he picked McClean, Browne & Hendrick as the 3 closed players to McGoldrick who I thought played his role very well.
McClean tries but it looks like he has ne legs under him at all. Don't see anything in Browne at all and Hendrick hasn't developed into any type of player at all after threatening early in his career to be something. McGoldrick played well last night but a striker has to score goals and unfortuantely he's poor at that. Perhaps the performance has been overblown but relative to the last few games it was a huge improvement. Thought the two full backs were superb. Tough to see Coleman getting back into the team.
We'll still beat the north.
Bar the conceded goal, Doherty was brilliant.

That was a pretty handy group to get out off, I blame O'Neil and Roy
Yeah, them two chancers stayed a campaign too long we were an embarrassing mess at the end of their tenure. Left Mick with a lot of psychological work to do!

Wouldn't call it handy. Denmark ranked 14, Swiss 20, and we are 42, on current standings. Don't think we'll come out of our playoff group, however. In that respect, it will be pretty embarrassing not to qualify when we are hosting and 24 teams from Europe qualify.
There were harder groups.. Kenny will have his work cut out for him
Quote from: champion1981 on November 18, 2019, 09:56:10 PMQuote from: FermGael on November 18, 2019, 01:01:44 PMif kilcoo had darragh o Hanlon and young Doherty playing they would of won by more!
Derrygonnelly missed a serious chance to get to an Ulster club final yesterday.
Kilcoo were there for the taking. Derrygonnelly completely dominated around the middle and their back 6 kept the dangerous Kilcoo forward line very quiet ( apart from the goal where they switched off).
Up front though was a different story. They just lacked composure and took some very poor shots on and missed some very straight forward ones. I couldn't help think that if they had Michael Gylnn available (he played in the Hogan winning St Michael's team last year and is their captain this year) they would have won. His free taking alone would probably have got them another two or three points. Again the rule that prevents under 17s from playing senior football prevented them from doing this.
