Howard named at 6 the only surprise so far. 6 forwards to be named after the ad break.

Not a surprise but while he didn't really play 6 he was nominated in that line so.........
Boyle really should have got 6.
No he wasn't. He was nominated in the forwards

Thought Ciarán Kilkenny was unlucky not to win an All Star!

Cluxton's POTY well deserved. A modest man, who goes about his work diligently!

A modest man he is. Met him once with the kids hoping for a quick photo but it went one better he took out a ball and started to play. Everything about him and the way he carries himself was very classy. In the All Ireland replay I think all but one of his kick outs went astray. His timing belt is still working great and he is  still phenomenal shot stopper. I think he can go another year.

Would have had Keoghan at 5 Boyle 6.

Durcan got his all star based on Donegal and Dublin games where he played wing forward. Wouldn't begrudge Brian Howard an All Star, while he didn't score much this year he played his football his best an extra defender/midfielder when Dublin weren't in possession of the ball.

Ridiculous that great players like kilkenny and keogan weren't selected but an average player like mcnamee was.

Your life must must be very said, do you spend your whole life with a pair of binoculars set up, leering in at your neighbours in a permanent state of rage?

Delighted for McNamee, he missed out on one in 2015 when he was the best full back in the country so good to see him finally rewarded.

McShane deserved his award 100%. Mcnamee is an average full back. Watch the Kerry goal again v Tyrone and see how he ball watches and is totally unaware of the danger.

He was the best full back on show this year and also in 2015. He deserves his award. He did very good man marking jobs on three All Star nominees this year - Brian Hurley, Conor Cox and Paddy McBrearty. He deserves his award simple as that, the two chaps you mentioned as alternatives didn't play at full back this year.

You are utterly obsessed with Tyrone football, if you had as much interest in Derry football as you have in trying to run Tyrone down it might be of use to your county.

Can't argue with Cluxton getting POTY. Kickouts on the money all year as usual, saved a penalty and another excellent save in the final. Glad O'Shea got the nod ahead of Clifford but both were sublime this year. Howard at CHB ahead of Boyle is a joke.

Rock for me all day long ahead of Mannion as well.

Durcan to be fair earned his All star by holding 5 of the 6 players he marked scoreless and three of them were Jack McCaffrey,Ryan McHugh and Shane Walsh while scoring 0-8 himself.

He ended up at wing forward at times as his role was to curb the influence of key players and few of the players he marked out of the game happen to play wing back. Weighing in with scores while man marking made his performances all the more impressive.

Don't often agree with you but do here. I wish McNamee was from Armagh

A forward keeping a defender scoreless shouldn't warrant a All  Star.

A defender the curbs the influence of key players does warrant one. For example McCaffrey showed in the following game v Kerry the type of damage he can cause if not shackled.

Durcan played as a forward both games.  Not  disputing his all star.  He is a class act.
