Sugrue ratified for another year. Fabulous news.
Yes in john we trust
Were Minor and U20 managers ratified also ?
Anyone putting their hand up from the club championship to be included next year?

Matty Campion for me. I know he's been there before but worth a go under Sugrue.
Also, Nigel Murphy, Adam Ryan (in spurts), Conor Meredith (again flashes of excellence) and maybe young Forbes of Graiguecullen.
Forbes was very ineffective against Portlaoise . The lads I was most impressed with over the weekend were Bruno McCormack and Tom Kelly believe it or not .still going strong the two of them .

He was indeed. But I liked the look of him against O'D's. He has size and ability and could work well with better players around him.

You've a heck of an eye for talent.
Coss from mm looks a super footballer. He's big and very mobile from what I see. John Scully of Annanough is probably the best defender operating outside senior football
O Flynn in Courtwood is very young and probably will be in at some point but maybe not this year. Slevin in port and the young forward in o Dempseys the same
You've a heck of a tongue for sarcasm Don. I made my point and there's no need for you to jump In with a pointless comment like always . I guarantee you I've a better eye than u ,hiding behind your fictional movie character.

Its just that I dont see Tom or Bruno making much of an impact next year on the intercounty scene. But feel free to have a cut off a chap like Aaron Forbes, Laoiseabu, if that IS your real name.
Aaron on the other hand, has raw potential, give him a chance.
Forbes did get a major chance during the trials for Laois trials and was deemed surplus to requirements

He did. And maybe he'll have a learned a bit and might come back a bit better for it. Sean Moore was too, are we writing him off also?
I'm not.... but some people are actually

God help us, we must have some pool of talent somewhere that I don't know about. Or maybe Beano and the boys can make a comeback after all.
What about O'Sullivan, Byrne and Diarmaid Bennett from Port and Daly from St Josephs? I thought Adam Campion at corner back for Josephs looked good as well.
If I was John Sugrue I'd be looking at athletic types i.e guys who really get around the field with ease. That's why I would include these guys along with Mattie Campion and Adam Ryan.
All of these guys may not have had the best of games (e.g Ryan) at the weekend, but they clearly have that bit of class.
I was surprised by port yesterday was expecting more to be honest
Regards players O'Sullivan no.17 also
Keogh No.11 for joes and maybe young Dempsey bit raw but in time
Yes, is young Dempsey a bit like PJ? When he first cam on the scene he looked very raw, but he eventually became a very solid midfielder for Laois.
I see that the Laois Today report suggests that 'Shane Bolger, Mark McDermott and Evan Lowry look like real prospects for Killeshin'. I saw Bolger playing for Laois under 20s during the summer and thought he looked good.
It'll be interesting to see how Killeshin go this year.

No. 17 for Port yesterday was Sean Byrne.
Port might be a different prospect when they get Colm Murphy and Robbie Piggott back.
Cormac murphy from crettyard is good
A lot of the players listed were in for trials at the start of the year and deemed surplus to requirements . Any one know if Sugrue will bring them back or what's the story ?
When did the new Ballyroan midfielder Shaun Murphy come on the scene ? Played well yesterday and is a big man. I like Martin Scullys way of going about his business for some reason and would look at him before a lot of the others named. I like the look of Mark McDermott from Killeshin , he has put on some serious muscular size recently .
Forgot to mention Graigue keeper Danny Bolger . Should be Brodys backup without a doubt

Rubbish, Keogh is a fine keeper, what makes it without a doubt?
Brody, Bulger, Byron, Keogh, Cooney, have nearly more options there than anywhere else.
Midfield i would see a problem coming upon us quickly enough, options seem to be limited coming through in reguards fielders at least

Just when highfielding is being rewarded again, we run out of fielders. Typical.

Attitude is everything for the county player....Sugrue saw something to leave lads off

Well thats bullshit. Some were sent off with information and advice and how to come back improved. We can't afford to write anyone off after a few weeks.
Yes they did and was fecked in bin by some of them....others didn't apply themselves
We don't have the pool of players for sure...but if you buy in well it wont work later on....seems to be Sugrue thinking

Then that was some of their own choices, but, none were simply tossed aside for good.
If they don't want/cant apply themselves there is a reason and they were let go

Sigh, stop moving the goalposts. I said anyone cut was given the opportunity to improve. John is too intelligent and reasoned to cast aside anyone without a chance of coming back.
And some cant/wont take that opportunity to improve

Your positive outlook is a breath of fresh air around here. Please tell me you aren't involved in the education of young minds.
I heard Sugrue thought that "size" was an issue with some of the players cast aside. Intercounty football would be a lot more physically demanding and intensive than club football in Laois and maybe that's what Sugrue is thinking .
I think you're all generalising.
