The Steelers win 3-0 over the Miami Dolphins tonight in the MNF game

Yes folks 3 nothing - on a field goal scored with just 20 seconds to go in the game

How did I watch that crap?

I pity you. The Dolphins are just awful. They need a new QB so bad.

Has there ever been a 0-0 game (before overtime) in the NFL? It was looking mighty close tonight!

they said there was a 0-0 game in 1942 (there was no overtime in those days though)

Miamis quarterback actually had the better of it tonight. Infact Miami played pretty well until I fell asleep (2 mins left in the game). The bookmakers had the under in this game at 38 points combined between both teams I(as sports centre reported the torrential rain the under dropped from 42-38 (still a generous points total for a game played in those conditions) - with 9-1 against the dolphins to win (which I thought they could almost do as the game progressed)! 9-1 in a two horse race in a professional sports game appears to be very generous odds so I asked this old guy why it was so high between two professional teams. He said " You like soccer? Its like San Jose State going to play scotland" :o I didnt quite know what to say to that.
Its been almost 32 years since a team went the entire season without winning a game - miami now sit at 0-11.

I actually thought it was so bad that it was watchable just to see what happened next. Late in the 4th quarter neither QB had passed for 100 yards and the commentator said something like Brady gets 100 yards every two plays.  ;D

Changing tack for a second, the weirdest NCAA Football regular season in years reaches a climax next week when the Bowl Selections are announced.  While this season has shown anything can happen, it's fairly obvious that if new numbers 1 and 2, Missouri and West Virginia, both win on Saturday, they'll be ranked #1 and #2 and thus play the BCS Championship Game.

The 'Bowl Season' is always great craic around Christmas time, and generally most teams with a winning record get invited to one or other of the many bowl games. The big ones are the BCS Bowls, ie the Fiesta Bowl, Orange Bowl, Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl, along with the new 'BCS Championship Game'. (Up until 2006 the BCS game doubled up as one of the 4 'BCS bowls', rotating around each of them.) The Bowl games are associated with a particular place, Rose Bowl = Pasedena, Fiesta = Arizona, Sugar = New Orleans Orange = Miami. The BCS Game gets played on one of those 4 sites about a week after the Bowl Game has been played there, and rotates among the sites.

Most bowls have an arrangement with the conferences that their 1st or second or third or whatever placed team will play in their bowl game, ASSUMING they do not make one of the BCS bowls, or the BCS game itself.

The current BCS top 10 rankings are :

1 Missouri 1 2779 .9751 2 1454 .9693 25 23 24 25 25 25 .990 1 .9781 4
2 West Virginia 2 2753 .9660 1 1467 .9780 24 25 25 24 24 24 .970 2 .9713 3
3 Ohio State 3 2638 .9256 3 1383 .9220 23 24 23 22 21 23 .910 3 .9192 5
4 Georgia 4 2368 .8309 4 1232 .8213 21 17 22 23 20 20 .830 5 .8274 7

How did I watch that crap?

After staying up Sunday night to watch the Eagles/Pats I decided not to stay up and watch this as I thought the Steelers would win handy.  Miami have a good chance to get there first victory next weekend as they play the New York Jets who are also shite.

Also sad to report that Sean Taylor died in hospital.  RIP.

Oh shit!!, damn, i really like Sean Taylor. I cant believe it, he was a class player, ok not the most likeable of people perhaps, he's had his trouble but, thats awful news. He was one of the few really hard hitters in the league. RIP Sean Taylor.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

Anyone staying up to watch Greenbay/Dallas Thursday night?  This should be a really good game.

I see Sky are replaying NFL America's game today, how come Total access isnt being shown?  Normally a very good show.

I dint think its usually repeated, not at this time during the day.  Normally at this time they show Total Access which brings you news from around the league.

Yeah - I liked Taylor as a player well - and apparently he was turning his life around - getting away from the whole "thug image"

All over ESPN here this morning. I guess he was working hard - but how can you have an intruder in your house 8 days ago leaving a machete on your bed - and still be there without better security when someone comes in and shoots you? Terrible shame he didnt take better measures as I dont think it was just some random incident that has led to his death.
He was some player alright.
