I know there are quite a few big Rugby fans on here, so this Sat is a must day for us all. The Sky + will come in handy.

Magners League Final  - Leinster v Ospreys
Guinness Premiership – Saracens v Leicester
Top 14 Final – Perpignan v Clermont Auvergne
Super 14 Final – Bulls v Stormers

I suppose the Magners League final will be the main interest as it involves a local team, but personally i watch a lot of the Premiership so i will be recording the Leicester v Saracens match. I like the Super 14 too so will look for a highlights show. Couldn't care less about French club rugby, i didn't even watch the H Cup on Saturday.

Will anyone try and watch all 4 ? I know Dinny Breen will be gutted the Super 14 final clashes with the Leinster game !!

OK lads, it's that time of the year again. Lynchbhoy is the reigning champion, and reckons he is on for 2 in a row. Well as long as he finishes above Dinny he will be happy enough !

Code for league is 5481

Good luck.

General discussion / Weakest Link - Sporting Heroes

is this for real or a spoof ?

Alex Higgins has just been voted off for saying that Wednesday fell between Sunday and Tuesday.
Henry Cooper said Italy won their first Grand Slam this year in 61 years.

WTF

Gazza and Hurricane were legends in their day but Jesus they look pathetic now. And Tom Daley, a 15 year old ? Was there no other sporting hero ?

A young boxer from west Belfast has died, just days after resuming his boxing career.

Gary Craig, 25, died suddenly in his bed on Wednesday night. He was watching a DVD with his fiancee when he had a seizure.

His family believe he was the victim of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS).

"There is something happening to a lot of young men. They're fit, they're healthy and then they are gone," said his fiancee Deborah Herdman.

"Athletes who are fit and healthy and everything they are supposed to be. It's just taking them away quickly and there are no signs coming up to it."

Gary had returned to the boxing ring last week after a five-year break, winning his first bout.

A number of other prominent sportsmen, including Tyrone GAA captain Cormac McAnallen, have died from sudden death syndrome in recent years.

In most cases SADS relates to an underlying heart condition but it is not yet clear if a heart problem or other factors led to Mr Craig's death.

John Lundy lost his son to SADS 10 years ago and now works with the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young, he said more screening was needed.

"All we know is that these young people have underlying heart conditions," said Mr Lundy.

"The only way it can be identified is through screening."

The charity runs screening clinics at the University of Ulster at Jordanstown. The next session is on 23 and 24 January 2010.

Rugby League made sporting history today by becoming the first sport to allow a team to CHOOSE their opponents for the sem-final, rather than have a draw.

what does people think if that was allow to happen in GAA or soccer.

General discussion / Campbell makes Notts County exit
September 23, 2009, 01:08:19 PM

Campbell changed his mind after only one game in a Notts County shirt
Sol Campbell has left Notts County by mutual consent after playing only one game for the League Two club.

Executive chairman Peter Trembling told the club website Campbell "could not adjust to the long-term nature of the project under way at Notts County".

The 35-year-old former Tottenham and Arsenal player arrived as a free agent in August to team up with former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson.

----------------------------------

what the f**k was he expecting, premiership + champions league titles within 4 or 5 years.

But his debut, a 2-1 loss at Morecambe, also turned out to be his last game.

I assume this is a new rule, otherwise Ronaldo wouldn't have got too much game time in Europe over the past few years
