Just in case the police come along with an armoured car.

What on earth is the justification for anyone having that?!?

The same lot are nowhere to be seen right when the scenario envisaged by the founding fathers that resulted in the 2nd amendment is here. A government oppressing its people.

At which point you wonder, whats the point of the 2nd amendment?

What kind of normal person would want to buy something like that?

In what normal setting would one even be able to buy something like that?

It could be a prop - his mate with him had a wooden replica of a 50 caliber machine gun

Yeah here are the patriots in question, included one chap who is evidently on his way to a massive plumbing project and is asking a black family for directions.

Petrol bomber? Now I know you are being a dick. How many times have you ever heard a Molotov cocktail being referred to as a petrol bomb in the US?

I did other searches that produced nothing

I also used ( salmah rizvi attorney bail).

I have also been on The NY Times homepage several times per day over the past week and that article never showed up on the homepage.....whereas all the stories regarding police "misconduct" did ( which was the point I was making to J70)

Here are 4 New York Times stories about the case or that mention the case. The fact that you are crap at Google doesn't mean that the New York Times is covering it up.

That story was not on The front page of The NY Times Website

Multiple stories per day disparaging law enforcement were

And there was no mention of the 2 cops shot and 1 stabbed in the front page today either

There are multiple stories per day about the violence as well. Just because there is one particular story that you couldn't find does not mean that the New York Times is covering anything up.

Here is today's front page of the print edition https://static01.nyt.com/images/2020/06/04/nytfrontpage/scan.pdf

This story is on the front page https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/03/nyregion/george-floyd-bronx-protests-looting.html

The mayor of Los Angeles says he will cut 100-150 m of budget to police , not a very rational step after what we have seen in last 2 weeks . Appeasing the mob .

Rossfan

What "mob"?
White polismen who kill black suspects?
Davy's given us a dream to cling to
We're going to bring home the SAM

A much more rational step would be to disband the mob that is the LAPD rather than appease them.

Not likely of course, but here's an interesting article on a city that did just that (and then started a smaller less aggressive police force).  https://www.citylab.com/equity/2018/01/what-happened-to-crime-in-camden/549542/
