I'm not going to read through 40 pages to see if it has been mentioned...but have any of you tried "Castle" beer? South African beer i think as thats where i got it but do you think when you're in a warm country and someone serves you up a cold beer anything would taste nice?
No. Heineken would still taste like piss.
+ 1. How is that beer so popular.

Beers that I rate and are decent value for money in the likes of Tescos and Sainsburys (spitting llama excluded). Most of them you'd only take in 2s or 3's. Can't drink 'ordinary' beer now .... apart from good draught Guinness

Timothy Taylor - Boltmaker 4.0% Yorkshire Ale
Whitewater Brewery in Kilkeel - Clotworthy Dobbin 5.0% ale
Hillstown Brewery in Ahoghill - Spitting Llama Belgian Tripel 7.0%
Guinness - Foreign Extra Stout 7.5%
Guinness - West Indies Porter 6.0%
It's a lot easier to sing karaoke than to sing opera

Spitting Llama is excellent.
Wanted.  Forwards to take frees.
Not fussy.  Any sort of ability will be considered

My latest list is

O'Hara's Irish Pale Ale
Galway Hooker Irish Pale Ale
8 Degrees  Howling Gale
8 Degrees Polar Vortex
12 Acres Pale Ale
Bo Bristle Pale Ale
Bo Bristle Amber Ale

I'm sticking to Irish beers.

No shortage of them nowadays. The range of micro/craft brewed beers in Ireland is amazing.

What about beers to stay away from?

One that springs to mind for me was Kernel Imperial Brown Stout 10.2%

Paid over £4 for the bottle and after a few sips poured it down the plug hole. Too much of everything...couldnt stick it. Tasted like a heavy stout with a double vodka and an chocolate expresso thrown in. Gets plenty off stars on online reviews which I don't understand

A few of my favourites at the minute

Kinnegar- Rust bucket
sierra Nevada- pale ale
einstock- icelandic ale
the master mcgraths stout & red ale are pretty good too

I was disappointed with the Master McGrath range. I must try some more Irish ales as i haven't come across a ' keeper ' yet. Can the Galway Hooker be got in the north?

The Crafty Brewing Company Irish Lager.
Bought these bad boys in Lidl on friday. Really nice.
Would recommend!
They also do stout and ale.

Very nice.

Got it on draft in The Vineyard in Belfast.

Try the Pokertree Red Earl and tje it stout, both a notch above the Clanconnel.

What's the yellow stuff from Guinness like? Hopefully nicer than Breo.

It will rule the world.

Fantastic beer.

Is it only on draught? can't seem to find it in any off license
Yes saw it in an offie tonight in 330ml bottles.

As the fella says - I know nothing about it but I know what I like. And I really appreciate the no hangover next morning.

You lads are nuts.
Here comes the Harp Ambassador.
If a drink has a funny name, is brewed in a pokey local hole, comes in a clunky bottle and costs an extra two quid, it is automatically 'cool' 'nice on the palete' 'crisp' and every other horseshit adjective a pseudo-bohemian-beer-snob wants to add. It's not that you know anything about beer, you are now just middle-aged and like to think you do.
Currently drinking Brewdog Punk IPA (Post Modern Classic). Apparently it is a beer with a soul and a purpose  ;D

Apart from the soul and purpose it was 3 for a fiver.
