QuotePS : We wouldn't be noted for poaching too many players as a club, there are lads who will move into Ballina from neighbouring towns, and ask to transfer, as a GAA club we have to facilitate that, but we don't go out looking for too many. Also remember S. Smyth? That moral high ground was levelled a long time ago

i wouldn't use the word poached but ye have certainly benefitted from players transferring, in particular from junior clubs, not mentioning any names but a rotund FF springs to mind  ;)

As for Seamie, FFS he was 16 and was living in Knockmore!

Thought this was a humourous reason

eyewitness account from an Ulster supporter whu was there (lifted off the UAFC site)

Quote:
We were sitting beside the poor guy who got assaulted. Brennan came on to warm up and deliberately choose to come down to the Ulster fans who were gathered in the west stand. After running across the pitch towars his own fans he ran back towards the Ulster fans and did a couple of press ups. There was some general banter, "who are you", etc and then a chorus of "you're bar's a load of rubbish". One guy said "Youre bar's crap, it was the worst Friday night of my life" Following this Brennan stepped over the wall, climbed through 5 rows of supporters and proceeded to punch one supporter repeatedly. He was separated by other fans and stewards. There was no other comments that in any way could warrant this reaction.

Mayo / Re: Mayo Club Football.

I do think hes a decent enough footballer, and we certainly dont have 6 forwards better than him.
As for his attitude, well from what i see it leaves a lot to be desired but maybe working under his uncle it'll be different
As i've said though it is the kind of thing that sickens me, players leaving one club for a neighbouring club and something i've slated ballina about for years, unfortunately it would appear the moral high ground has been levelled  ;)

Stephenite, surprised u haven't mentioned this yet, heard it on wednesday nite but it seems to be common knowledge at this stage, Gazza McHale having transferred over to play under his uncle.

Not the sort of thing i like to see happening but he's a good young footballer and the family is from knockmore, not that thats an excuse.

I said after ballina lost to cross in the semis that a lot of the younger lads were annoyed and gazza actually said it to me that nite, i took it with a pinch of salt but apparrently he's training with knockmore and I'm led to believe that he has transferred

Good article, showing that JOM isn't taking it too seriously for the FBD

Well Staunton and Butler for a start, but we're getting into the "what makes a hard man" , Staunton and Butler would go through walls etc. and front up toe to toe. Rambo was the type of guy that wouldn't give you that chance as you'd have been taken out by a cheap shot to the ceann while your back was turned. I've seen him do this, both in his Ardagh incarnation and  Knockmore. Good footballer mind you, destroyed us in a junior championship game quite a few years back.

I'd never have really have classed Liam McHale as a 'hard man' , he'd mix it up with the best of him if they came looking but he never really went out of his way to flatten some fella who was wide open for a fair but killer shoulder or anything. Whereas DB in the same position would try and make sure that they'd have to scrape the man off the ground

Not that Liam McHale, he would hardly be classed in that category, i was talkin about Liam McHale senior from knockmore

From what i can remember knockmore's hardest man

Hard, or just filthy ? Knockmore have had far harder men over the years than this fella

Name one? I'd have him ahead of stanton, peter butler, eugene mchale, liam o'neill, liam mchale
