Due to a late venue change when the Derry ladies were already on their way to Cavan, the game was moved to Breffni 3G pitch, but the ladies didn't have the right boots with them to play on that surface (for player safety)

They confirmed with the game ref that metal studs wouldn't be allowed on the pitch so they turned the bus around.

This comes after the controversy when the Ulster Council refused to reschedule the games as Steelestown played on Sunday, and then were expected to play again tonight in a game over 2 hours away and if they won to play again next weekend..3.games in a week despite their own guidance having a minimum recommendation of 5 days between championship games.

Hello everyone,

Below is a link to a survey created by a researcher interested in group relations in Northern Ireland.

They would be very grateful if you have 20 mins and would consider completing the survey.

You should be 18 years or above and be from/born in Northern Ireland.

Unfortunately they don't have any funds to pay participants and so am relying on kindness!

www.surveymonkey.com/s/TPNI1

It takes about 5 minutes to do, they need 300 people to answer

GAA Discussion / Ulster Counties Comparison
August 14, 2008, 02:35:28 PM
In interesting thought on the Ulster Counties.

How do you compare them given that they have all followed a different route through the Championship!

Armagh, Down and Tyrone have all won 3 matches each
Followed by Fermanagh and Mongahan on 2
Then Cavan, Donegal and Derry on One win each

Apologies Antrim - havent included the Tommy Murphy Cup!

Compare Tyrone and Down, Tyrone reached the quarter finals, however have played less matches than Down played to reach the last 12! (Tyrone have played 5 matches to date, Down 6)

For the Armagh,  Tyrone Rivarly, who is better - they have never got the opportunity to play each other, As Down knocked out Tyrone and Armagh knocked out Down!

The current system allows for no real comparisons between the teams and is really based on luck!
