Dunguib fails banned substance test

Tuesday, 21 July 2009 09:51
Cheltenham and Punchestown bumper winner Dunguib has tested positive for a banned substance.

The postive test was returned after the horses' win at the Paddy Power Champion Bumper at Punchestown in April.

The results of a 'B' sample are still being awaited but if the results match, Philip Fenton's stable star will be stripped of its title.

Looked the best bumper horse since Montelado. It'd be a pity if his wins were tainted in any way.

There's Seán Brady going in, what dya think Seán?

boojangles

It wasnt a performance enhancing drug I understand. Not sure of the details after that.

I havent read much about it but whats the story with the Karl Burke case at the moment?? He was warned off for a year I see.

Karl Burke was supposedly involved in the Fergal Lynch, Darren Williams and Miles Rodgers case. I don't know too much of the details myself but it looks like the BHA are showing a zero tolerance attitude to any breach of the rules within racing at the moment: http://www.britishhorseracing.com/resources/about/whatwedo/disciplinary/disciplinaryDetail.asp?item=089882

Just got word that 3k has been placed on truckers delight in a bookies in Belfast - thats a fair wedge. I'll be having a tenner on it for the craic.
