This might be a bit of a silly question but why is Ruby banned from Down Royal this weekend? Does his ban from Aintree not exclude him from English racing only?

Donnellys Hollow

Bans are global in racing. Dettori is banned from the Breeders Cup because of a ban he picked up for interference caused at Newbury.
There's Seán Brady going in, what dya think Seán?

The only thing that would put me off Oscars is the lay off, The Real Article has won recently and Geraghty is in top form, whether OW has the engine and Power can give him a good ride on a course new to him... Time will only tell. Chart Master had a run out at Dundalk last Friday and is making a quick reappearance tomorrow so will be an good indicator of sorts to see how that one fairs. Ruby there for only 2 rides too, always worth being on. PC and Russell have a few decent each way shouts, Cottage Oak won here 3-4 years ago as far as I remember. Also confused if the odds on Double Double is in the bumper is way too short too... Good days racing in store for me.

Christ that thing is one to avoid. I remember him one day at Punchestown and he came so wide off the turn that he was nearly running down Naas main street. Colm Murphy's horse is interesting. Lacks a run but he has won this bumper in past with Voler La Veddete and this horse carries the same colours.

I think Leish Oscar has been set up for this race, can handle the conditions today and will have no problem whatsoever with the distance... I'll be having an Oscar double this afternoon methinks.  ;D

Psycho is a NR now.

Hoping for a good price on Oscars Well tomorrow Sammy? Irish-racing.com have The Real Article as their tissue fav.

I see Oscars Well is 2/1 with bet365. Looks like a decent bet in a small field.

I have a feeling that The Real Article is a bit of a talking horse. Has shown plenty of ability in some of his outings but was found out the only time he was in a real race (Galway Hurdle). I think Staying Article in the same yard is a horse with a lot more potential. Tomorrow's race may suit him - small field, no pace etc but he is too short. Oscars Well would really want to be winning this if he wants to get within a furlong of Hurricane Fly. I'm put off backing him for some reason though. He didn't win a bumper (no harm, Moscow Flyer didn't either) but it took him 5 runs to finally win a race. I'm not sure if he's just a stuffy horse that needs a few runs to get race fit or whether he's just a slow learner. Cheltenham would suggest the latter when he was still very raw and green. Robbie Power's form recently also puts me off.

Really fancy Dazzling Suzie in the mares novice and the French yoke for Meade/Gigginstown in the maiden hurdle. Neither will be much of a price unfortunately.

Is that Leroy Parker your on about for the maiden?

No, he means Ipsos in the 2.35 but the bookies are taking no chances with that one, 8/13  :(

Oak Leafer

Goin for a double on

1.35 Dazzling Susie

2.40 Lively Baron

:P

The Real Article found a bit for pressure today.

Donnellys Hollow

Disappointed with Oscars Well even though he did blow up between the last two flights. I doubt Willie Mullins will have too many sleepless nights after that race. The Real Article's price for the Champion Hurdle is an absolute joke and just shows the paucity of top class 2 mile hurdlers with so many of last year's crop either going chasing or stepping up in trip. To put The Real Article into context, he couldn't win a Galway Hurdle off a mark of 127. Overturn won it last year off a mark of 145 and was beaten 16 lengths in the Champion Hurdle by Hurricane Fly.

Mixed day for Davy Russell. Good winning rides on both Ipsos Du Berlais and Four Commanders but complete brain fart on Dazzling Suzie thinking he was riding Carvills Hill.

Looking forward to the action Stateside now. This Secret Circle in the first is apparently a bit of a machine. Might have a small play on Stacelita in the Filly & Mare Turf.

Brian Meehan unlucky not to get one on the board.

Where has this horse gone to?

I don't know why he didn't race after his maiden win last year but he was entered at Naas last weekend but didn't run because of the heavy ground. He has been bought by Thomas Barr over the summer.

The Worker

Any fancies for down royal tomorrow DH?

Donnellys Hollow

Nothing really jumping off the page at me anyway.

Quito De La Roque in the feature but it looks a trappy enough race.

bamboo

i'll ask the same question but change the meeting to Sandown.

Heading there tomorrow for it's 1st big jump meet of the season.

Thanks in advance to all.

Got trapped early and run a poor race.  Should have walked it.  Had Nahrain myself, Dettori give it a good run, pipped by Velaquiz on Perfect Shirl. 27/1 nicely!
Got a bad going over today, hoping for better luck tomorrow. Have Flat Out tomorrow for the big one.
