2nd best team in leinster, Really? I would say forth maybe 5th,
Meath, Kildare and Westmeath are better than us and they arent exactly pulling up trees, since our last leinster final in 07 we were beaten in leinster by wexford handy enough in a semi final in 08, hammered by kildare in 09,hammered by meath in 10, beat by longford in 12, hammered at home by louth in 13 hammered by kildare last year in a replay.
Thats results over 5 managers, it cant always be the the manager.

And the one time we were getting to last 8/12 the man was hated by the supporters because of the way we played, despite the facts we were getting the results you wanted.

Basically laois supporter are probably the worst in country in termz of actually going to support the teams and inflated expectation.

We are still waiting for the 03/04/05 minor teams to come good and have the same expectations we had in 03, and its not going to happen, those lads are between 28 and 31 now.

Would i like to see us where gou want us ti be? Of course, but like i said before the players arent there, havnt been for a while now, as long as they are doing their best and try and make the most of their ability that'll be enough for me. But unfortuntely for some people they'll allways demand more, no matter how well things are going

What are the views on the upcoming weekend?

B/K will probably feel they have another gear in the first game and R/E will be hoping that they are playing into a strong wind in both halves the next day 

ballinakill have  mcdonald from slieve margy the next day i believe, are a physically stronger team,  more dogged team and mentally are a mile ahead of the borris team who have repeatedly misfired since they joined

Any manager with ambition and know how should be looking to get promoted here. Tipperary are the only side that are better than us. A manager like Lillis would come in expecting to be relegated and then doing enough work to get relegated. Let's NOT get that kind of manager, whatever we do.

Its not a manager issue laois have its a attitude issue particularly with supporters, division 2/3 is the standard that we have been at for most of our history, yet there are some who think we should be challenging dublin for all irelands, the fact is that we have basically 2 players who couldstart for mayo/kerry/dublin, one of whom is playing hurling.

The reality is that the players coming through arent as good as the ones retiring

In fairness its a great day for cretty and indeed the few spink lads, having said that you do the to fear this could be the start of a very steep fall for a kilcruise team who for the last 15 years have made the absolute most of what they had (unlike their fellow villagers)

Kilcruise V Cretty has to be Kilcruise with Cretty having no Ballinakill players, all those for amalgamations would think again if they had this one.

Once again james young and clonaslee have disgraced themselves tonight, regardless of his stature the man deserves a lifetime ban and the club should be suspended for a year

what stature, never seen him do much in his inter county days apart from taking frees. as for disgraced himself he didn't lick it off the ground 

Although he mightnt of contributed more than frees during his intercounty days he is probably the most renouned name nationally of a laois hurler in the last 15 years along with willie hyland, interestingly hes manager of slieve bloom who happen to be playing castlletown in a junior semi final as if that game needed any more tension

Emo's defeat to Clonaslee puts Ballyfins supposed wonder comeback into context, with further context coming last night with defeat to Crettyard. And a little more context on their decision to pull out of the league.

Fair Comment. Crettyard didn't seem to have Spink players last night either from what I could make out. The standard in general was shocking over the weekend. If Emo stay up, I imagine, they will grab the Courtwood lifeline and form a gaels team.   If they go down, they won't be able to form a gaels team for at least a year unless some of their players opt to play with one the existing senior clubs. I still think that The Heath are the most vulnerable of the 3 left.

Emo lost to cretty, ballyfin and clonaslee there is no doubt they deserve to go down, there is a bit of a hiatory of club having an awful season after reaching the highs that they did last year, ballyroan champions in 06 relegated in 07, Timahoe finalist in 07 relegated in 08, Kilcruise semis in 13 and regular finalist beforehand would of been relegated if county board had a set of balls,  o dempseys in 14 semi finalist relegated last year,

Take portlaoise away and its a very even championship but a very poor one too

Its actually 2 from colt, one from ballacolla, to be fair we have had lads from anywhere between cullohill to mountrath in the past, but its probably as many ballyroan abbey players on the gales teams as theres ever been

Looking forward to the minor final this week( bit disapointing that it is being played mid week), i know we bet st pauls at u16 level but wouldnt be too sure on the opposition bar kinsella, would there be many from the rock and courtwood or is it mainly emo players?

It is a Rathdowney v Errill final - Rathdowney beat Castletown on Friday.

I was told that this final may not take place and they were looking to share the trophy

Was basing it off clubs that play together underage and one that realistically would get relegated, as for the two arles's they are still amongst the best teams in the county and the chances of them joining is slim to none whereas you could see one of them going in with ballylinan, if kikeshin and cretty went up surely they would go with each other considering they are together underage and are beside each other

Gaels is the way to go but it should be more structured I don't see the connection between Mountmellick and castletown.

Why not Mountmellick with Kilcavan ...

Or Mountmellick and Ballyfin like they are in Juvenile level?

I don't think Castletwon or slieve bloom really improved Mountmellick or Ballyfin as there was only one player from each on the teams.

You could argue that Spink/Ballinakill made Crettyard stronger!

From my understanding of it you can only have one team in with a senior club to make a gales team. You could end up with a senior championship like

Graiguecullen

This would make the current intermediate junior a, overall you would be talking about a serious increase in competitiveness and quality
