Why had you Fianna Fáil at the top surely they should be like 3'rd or 4'th on the list.

Meh, it's how it is. Was thinking of my own constitueny when I did it. It explains why there was no Green there too. I don't think they have selected a candidate.

Why does he want to move? Chasing trophys?

The club he is going to is div 5!!!!. Hardly chasing glory.

He still might be improving on his chances to win more trophys ;)

Zapatista are you a nordie by any chance? No Green Party or do you know something we dont?

I`ll be voting for the local Green Party candidate.

:D :D

I am a nordie but I suppose there's a Green party there too. I fucked up, completely innocent.

With the board having probably a 95% northern bias, the result of the poll will undoubtedly be slightly biased. Would it not be better for each person who can actually vote in the election to say who they intend to vote for and then count the votes.

Sure, if you could be bothered. It might be handier just to rule out SF though.

I was canvassed tonight by Labour. He's a nice guy and will get a transfer but his running mate will be well down the list.

Anyway it's pretty much game on now. We have no Government at the minute and are waiting on the ruling party to decide who will lead them through the election rather than who should lead the Country. If Cowen loses he'll be heading for the Offaly via the Pheonix park. If he wins we might have to hang in for a couple of weeks yet and the President will have to clear her calender.

What do you think?

- I think we can pretty much rule out SF from this poll.

Anyone know why we are drawing this money now? I thought we had enough to do up to March in reserve and that revenue was performing better than predicted. Will there be a massive spend before the election?:

General discussion / Re: Michaela's Court Case

The two quotes below are posts I put on the condolences thread. I have removed them now.

Just to qualify here as I didn't want to get to involved in the other thread.

QuoteThey should face trial first. Probablys do no one justice

This was in reference to a poster suggesting something that 'probably' happened and then seeking justice for it. Regardless of what we know we must assume we know very little. Either that or we could end up with anything we want and demand someone pay the price for it.

QuoteI doubt it if we can tell anything. I think it's best if we don't come to conclusions or hope to point out things that the local police may or may not have missed at this stage.
I doubt if we will ever be qualified to do that and will end up adding hysteria to the details of the investigation we might have. The police may have a confession for all we know

This was a post to ask not to be offering up what we think the motive might and questioning the police investigation when we know little or nothing about it. I just think that the information must come here from Mauritius. If we try to send it the other way we will be very disappointed.

I think she was also the brains behind the team CD for 2003 where they all had a song each that meant so much to them, for example Cormac's was 'Gold' by Spandau Ballet.  'Little things' that Mickey references so often in his book that contribute so much to greater success.

This may have been the case in 2003 also. It's just the scene in 05 sticks out for me.

One of my favouite parts of Mickey's book was when Michaela thought it would be a good idea if the entire team were able to sing the National Anthem before each game as an act of unity amoung them. Mickey agreed and she taught them word for word in the Irish language. I can still picture that scene in Croke Pak in 2005 facing Kerry.

My thought's and prayers are with John and all of Michaela's family and friends.

No, I haven't sold out; it's just that I'd prefer to meet Batt O'Keefe before Ned O'Keefe if I were to meet either on my doorstep. Both will get lots of stick but Ned didn't help to feck up the country and may very well lose his seat. Batt, with a bit of luck, will get the bum's rush too but will have his ministerial pension to help soften the blow.

True. If you vote for Ned you'll get it back three fold. If you don't vote for need, you can eat cake. In fairness to Ned he is on record as saying he regrets voting for NAMA. THe problem is though he is also on record for voting for NAMA.

My target for FF TDs is a healthy Zero.

Apparently, FF have no money for an election campaign and they are in debt. FG on the otherhand are believed to be well financed!

FF see spending on an election as an investment. The money will show up.

Interesting, though not surprising, that you pick out Willie O'Dea and his misdemeanours when the country is financially crippled.

Why's that interesting and not surprising? It's not surprising as he is the perfect example of someone who will escape this supposed FF slaughter.

I picked O'Dea as his ethics are known, he's an ex-minister and he is definately running. He is also a def to retain his seat. The same reason I asked about O'Donaghue but I don't know for sure if he will run.

Do you think so?  They get a later election but is it going to make any difference ?
The country is ruined. There is no positive spin they can put on that.

You under estimate the ability of FF to run an election campaign. Once they start they are very impressive.  The fella that ran in the Donegal by-election was very impressive and probably suffered due to it being a by election and Doherty's popularity.

I see they already got to Lar.

We had our chances and blew them. We can still punish the party but my guess is that won't happen either.
