The Fog of War as linked above is a good watch.

I enjoyed *cough*cough* watching this one about the Major Fraud on Who Wants to be a Millionaire
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeR4jS_IO7Y

Plenty of full episodes of the Nat Geo "Aircrash Investigations" full episodes on You Tube. The famous Gimli Glider is a good win with a happy ending!

Interesting series beginning here on the Great War:

Quite old, which means there's a lot of first-hand accounts. Goes into great detail, it's quite a long series.  What I find striking is how popular the war was at the time when it started and how it was greeted with celebrations in the street. People were queuing up to enlist and have a crack at the enemy, patriotism was everything and peer pressure made sure that anyone in doubt about it was brow-beaten into signing up too. A completely different world from today.

Not on youtube, but listened to this last Saturday on RTE Radio 1 on Sean Mannion (Boxer from Rosmuc, Galway). A great listen.

I couldn't find the long versions on youtube but Koyaanisqatsi and Robinson in Space are class.

I know there's a classic youtube thread already but that's for short, funny clips and there's lots more substantial stuff on youtube so I wanted to create a thread for that. Also it hits -30 in the winter here so I'll be spending a fair bit of time indoors.

This is a brilliant, moving documentary about Canadian police and how they treated drug addicts in their community with kindness and respect and actually got results too. It's called Life through a blue lens.

Worth a trawl through the RTE Radio documentary archives. Some real clinkers in there? My favourite is the one where the the 2 young fellas blagged their way from Dublin to Manhattan with no passports or money. Link anseo.

Yeah cheers Charlie, I thought it was great, and should be shown to police officers everywhere, especially the overly aggressive, macho ones. I'm sure everyone could learn something from it.

Excellent series of boxing documentaries from HBO - Legendary Nights.
This one features the fight between Meldrick Taylor and Chavez when Taylor had him beaten but the ref Robert Steele stopped it with less than 5 seconds left. Fascinating.

I'd never heard of Greg Giraldo until a few days ago. He was a legend of comedy roasts who died in 2010. Hilarious.

The World at War on You Tube.

Probably the best factual TV series ever made. Amazing...the interviews with people who actually were there make the hairs stand on end.

Have any of these got subtitles? I'd like to watch them but I don't know a word of German.
